Yeah, Kansas got messed up too. I'll type more later. For a quick idea of what the area looked like, check out these two pictures I took on Wednesday, and you'll get a pretty good idea.

So yeah, that's what our end of KS looked like. It finally got above freezing today, so stuff started melting. The fun part of it, was that instead of just turning to water, everything was just falling off of the trees, power lines, etc. in huge chunks, making it like a makeshift hailstorm. Suck.
Ice Storm
I still lack power, as do several hundred thousand of my fellow Tulsans (my office got generators up yesterday.
Imagine a tornado went through, but forgot to level the houses. Every tree was pretty well toppled, and Tulsa is a very tree filled place (but do not go much further west if you like trees). Radio news reports include incoming shipments of chainsaws and generators...lol.
On the plus side, I'd like to thank Ohio for the help. I've seen utility trucks from several locations in Ohio. Also Massachusetts, NC, Houston (~11 hours away) and everywhere in between. The U of Tulsa might be donating basketball tickets to the crews this weekend (I hope they do) and we are keeping them well fed!
With mild winters creating ice storms, thunderstorms and tornadoes in the spring, heat over loading the system in the summer, and wind storms int he fall - the guy who thought overhead lines were a good idea for Oklahoma should be exhumed and shot.
Cold. So Cold. It is supposed to be in the 20's tonight (cold for down here, ok!) and a snow "storm" (2+ inches really slows us down). But hey, at least my power didn't go out during football season!
