Glad I could make it....you BGSU types seem to be far more intelligent than those Oregon types....not to mention your colorscheme is far more muted than theirs and much more pleasant on the eye.

My thinking exactly...IF we can protect Omar early. If the dogs get to Omar early I don't see a first time starter QB composing himself in the middle of the game and settling down.Warthog wrote: I think we have the firepower to put up some points. My gut is:
OU - 38
BG - 17
I think we put up some points, but I'm not confident in our secondary against one of the best WR corps in the nation. That said or DL is good. VERY GOOD. If they can get pressure on White, he is likely to fold like an origami bird (see KSU & LSU). My book from watching him last year reads like this: Can make all the throws and put the ball exactly where he wants it. However, he struggles under pressure, and poor at reading defenses. Last season only 2 teams could pressure him, and most couldn't cover his #1 option. Result: Heisman trophy. If we can pressure him, we could make this a ball game. I'm just not that confident in a brand new QB, however. Especially knowing Stoops' teams usually come out firing on all cylinders. I'm curious what the loss of the other Stoops brother will mean for that defense. Likely not much, but one can hope...

The 'experts' love harping on White's mobility, however, this past spring was the first time he could participate in practices more than every 2 or 3 days. He's lost some weight, and gotten a fair shake of his mobility back, so despite the 'pundits' saying he's immobile based on last season are neglecting to mention that he was also playing last season on fairly recently surgically repaired knees. He won't be the most mobile QB out there, but I dare say he'll surprize some people with his ability to get outside this year.hammb wrote:My thinking exactly...IF we can protect Omar early. Now this is the kind of thing I was looking for. I knew if I put "serious", I would get the exact opposite.
And No, it's not smack, this will be the truth. It's not bragging if you can back it up.
I'll probably see some of you at the game though. I'm in the endzone, section 39 row 70-something. I don't know where we'll be drinking before the game, but I'm looking forward to seeing as many BG fans as possible. You're team will need you.
Seriously

it's smack when you clearly know nothing about your opponent by suggesting you're going to beat them 55-13. IF ou812 wins, it will be a close game. the top teams in the mac can play with just about anyone.SoonersEnFuego wrote:Now this is the kind of thing I was looking for. I have two answers....simply because I love Falcon Football and wanna see BG upset OK. BG 27, OU 24.
OTOH, I am a realist. OK is totally loaded. BG is a great team but pound for pound, we aren't as good as OK. OK 37, BG 20.
I think we can hang with the Sooners but we MUST elimintate all mistakes, penalties and turnovers. OK is good enough without us helping them too.
GO FALCONS!!!!
26 days to go....my how time flies!

The problem is that it isn't you "backing it up," it is the Oklahoma football team.SoonersEnFuego wrote:Now this is the kind of thing I was looking for. I knew if I put "serious", I would get the exact opposite.

And there are a lot of serious predictions- just because we think we won't lose by 42 doesn't mean we aren't serious...is that what you are implying???
Inventor of the Clusterf**k and Shoot offense.
Same thing happens on mht.com.......if you aren't praising the BCS teams, you're "out of touch" with reality. At least he admits he's a OU fan......we had a Marshall/Ohio State fan come on pretending to be a Michigan fan......told us "no way, not in a parallel universe would Miami beat Michigan."
It's considered bad luck / bad karma to post predictions too early on mht.com, but I will do so here.......
OU 35
BG 27
I think BG's game and Miami's game are very close. Both MAC teams have a chance to win....but must play "near-perfect" games, and recieve a break or two on special-teams or turnovers. But it is very possible it could happen. I'll be cheering for two MAC upsets that day.

A Sooner perspective
Just to weigh in here on the “serious predictions only” thread, as a Sooner fan I will be the first to say that I believe the thread starter here is off his rocker. It is apparent that he has no respect for your program at all and didn’t realize that last season you played Ohio State within a TD. Now, there is no doubt that OSU doesn’t have the same type of explosive offense we have, but still the same you was able to put up 17 points against a really good OSU Defense. Opening games are the hardest to predict, because of the unexpected play in openers. Sometimes the Offense just doesn’t click right, or the D sometimes breaks down because a defensive player is unsure of what or where he is suppose to be. Unlike the NFL, college teams don’t get those preseason games to sort these mistakes out, they have to be corrected as the season goes along. Mark my words, you will see mistakes made by both teams and ultimately if it’s a close game it will cost either OU or BG the game. Unlike many, I don’t see this game as a blowout, but I expect this game to remain close throughout. BG is a very good opening test for our Sooner’s, as they are a better team than most believe. In the end though, I think the crowd and the depth will win this game for Oklahoma, and when it is all said and done, many fans, including our own will gain a lot of respect for the Falcons.

Very well said. My sentiments exactly.soonerfansince69 wrote:Just to weigh in here on the “serious predictions only” thread, as a Sooner fan I will be the first to say that I believe the thread starter here is off his rocker.
