I think that has to be part of it. Our offense seems to favor multiple "good" weapons as opposed to one or two "awesome" weapons.
If this were basketball, I could see your point, but in football I just don't see it.
There are countless talented players that go to schools with other talented options. "I wanna be the man" mentality is really not that prevalent in college football, and especially not at the WR position. QB or RB, perhaps, but not WR. Especially not in our offense that routinely features 4 or 5 WRs.
I have no idea why we haven't been able to bring in WRs of the same caliber of some other MAC programs. Could be any number of reasons, I suppose. However, I don't really see how "We already have too many other weapons" really could be one of them.
I think it's more likely that our coaching staff believes that the faster WRs aren't the best fit for our scheme. I don't necessarily agree with that notion, but that'd be my guess.
