Wow. I've never played fantasy college football, but I cannot imagine having Freddie Barnes on a team. There have to be at least 30-40 WRs who would project out for better stats than him.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:In the first two rounds, no less. I suppose I could see Sheehan, but there are probably a lot of QBs that I'd take before him too.
Nothing better than playing fantasy sports with people who are blindly loyal to specific teams. I played with a guy last year who had Rex Grossman, Devin Hester, and Cedric Benson on his team...didn't work out too well.
I could see both Sheehan and Barnes as valuable back-up options.hammb wrote:Wow. I've never played fantasy college football, but I cannot imagine having Freddie Barnes on a team. Actually, Barnes is projected 47th best receiver. With CBS, there are 3 WR spots plus 5 bench spots. I could see using Barnes once MAC play starts and a starting WR has a bye week

I'm not sure having any of BG's receivers would be a great fantasy receiver as we spread the ball around too much but maybe that's just me. I do have Sinsia as my kicker though and a couple of Mac players in a TE from OU and a *cough* *cough* UT WR. I'm surprised that Sheehan got picked so early. My Juice Williams better run for ton of yards cuz he's not really a passing machine at all. My DST is OSU and USC's shockingly. I have the top rated wr in Crabtree and OSU's Chris Wells at RB. Not too bad I guess but we'll see.

I suppose Sheehan and Barnes aren't the top picks for real fantasy players, but having players I'll be watching on a regular basis makes it more fun for me. I must say though, the last 2 years I've played in fantasy leagues that included the MAC, I usually pointed high by playing my MAC teams. This new format with idividual players is certainly going to be a different kind of challenge that will probably cause me some grief, and at this point I prefer the old format for college ball.
