Yeah I have heard the stories, so sad I get to miss all that fun since we dont play football there this season (and dont know the next time we will). Hopefully if I get there for vball or bball I'll get that nice welcomeFalconfreak90 wrote:CMU has the most obnoxious students in the MAC....bar none. I hate that place but it was nice walking out of there in 2002 and 2004 with victories...when the assault continued after the game, a simple "Scoreboard, bro" was all that was needed.

It wasn't quite as nice walking out of there in 2006Falconfreak90 wrote:CMU has the most obnoxious students in the MAC....bar none. But I agree with Freak, CMU is a craphole when it comes to fan violence/general disdain for the opponent.
As concerns the MAC stadiums, I've only been to a few outside the Doyt. CMU, EMU, Akron, and Kent are the only ones I've been to. However, I intend to add Toledo and Ohio to that this year, perhaps NIU as well.

Its actually Akron's homecoming so we aren't taking the whole band there just to sit in the stands. There will however, be a pep band. And having heard the Zip band play for about the last 10 years, I can be pretty sure the 50-65 FMB members we take will be louder and rowdier than the entirety of the UA band.
Yeah right girl!
Oorah!

I voted Ohio. I've been to every stadium in the MAC many times over and out of those three, by far I like Peden the best. That's probably going to change though with Akron's new place. I stopped by last weekend to see how the progress is coming along and you can already see the stadium starting to taking form. It looks like the lower levels will actually be completely below ground (they essentially dug the stadium into the ground) so the field will be dropped and the lower levels are beginning to take shape. The upper decks will climb right over top of the lower levels - making for some great sightlines. I think OU will be our toughest game of those three too and don't let their 0-3 record fool you. Ohio's offense exploded last week over CMU and if not for some costly turnovers (sound familiar???), the Bobcats could easily be 2-1 or maybe even 3-0 (sound familiar again???). Boo Jackson torched CMU through the air and is also running the ball and actually reminds me some of Josh Harris the way he played last week with his dual-threat ability. Whatever jitters he had stepping into the OSU game the week before, they were long gone in OU's MAC opener. He outplayed LeFevour in many aspects except one where it cost him the most, ball security. Jackson fumbled twice late though against CMU including a run going into the endzone for the "would-be" game-winning TD. As for BG playing in Athens, if past history repeats itslef, Peden has been a kind place for the Falcons in recent years and hopefully that will continue again in '08.
GO BG!!!

Thanks for clearing that up Niz. I'll be looking forward to seeing (and hearing) the members that do make the trip. It'll certainly help our effort to outdraw Akron in their own stadium like we did in 2006.The Niz wrote:goofyeuph wrote:Akron, cause the FMB is going to be there.
