I thought the attendance was pretty solid yesterday. The tailgate lot was certainly packed, but I did hear numerous students say they were just out there to tailgate, and usually don't go to games. It'll take some consistent winning to change that mindset among the fanbase. Yesterday's loss set us back at least a year in that regard.

I do have to say that this is a trend that will never go away. This was the trend when I was at BG over 20 years ago; granted football back then wasn't worth the price of admission. BG football will always play second fiddle to whatever better game is on tv, and that doesn't always include, UM, OSU and ND. I'm not sure what the best plan for the future may be. I thought it was getting lights but that really hasn't done the trick. I haven't been back to a game in four years, and from tv it looks like the stadium has received a nice addition, plus a nice new field. There are many positives but in the end, I think, it will always come down what better game someone could be watching on tv, or the fact that so many students go home on the weekends.
