This sounds really great. It sounds like this station has tremendous coverage.

But: Do we still have a network? Meaning, footholds in Cleveland and Columbus and solid coverage in Toledo?

New Radio outlet

Great News and how embarrasing if the new coach were to find there was no radio to cover games throughout BG. But on second thought, maybe people would then go to games.

WBGU radio & TV channel 27 PBS - main communication sour

Post by orangepumpkin »

:? Hi Cal and others that have control of communications for BGSU sports.

Wondering if, we spent the existing budgeted money on developing PBS TV and BGSU 88.1, by purchasing additional capitol equipment and required licenses to increase power and coverage area to show live sporting events inconjunction with the roll-out of the new basketball and remodeled ice arena.

This would pay off in the long run with exposure of all BGSU athletic teams and be used as a recruiting tool and increased education curriculum possibilities.

Instead of, paying or absorbing investigating resources in finding local and regional radio groups to air and show BGSU sporting events.

I still can remember when PBS 27 carried live sporting events in the 60's and 70's.

What do you think?

I have wondered about this too. I would really love to be able to get 88.1 broadcasts of BG women's basketball all the way out to Findlay where it usually dies and a music station from somewhere else leaks in. My guess is if we don't have the money to do so it won't happen anytime soon.
