We have to figure out a better course for next year. I know the pickings are slim around BG, but there has to be something better. Perhaps if we had gotten to play the back nine at Riverby my opinion of it would be higher (for some reason I remember the back nine being about ten times better than the front), but I've played metro courses that were better than that.

Perhaps playing that early in the season it would be a better idea to play somewhere like Stone Ridge where the greens and fairways have some drainage built into them, $5-7 more be damned. In hindsight, I don't think playing a course right next to the Maumee in April was the best of ideas.

Either way, it was a great time, and I definitely think this should be a tradition that we carry on. And here is a thought...is there a chance that Coach Clawson might change the time of the spring game? For some reason I remember a spring game a few years ago that was later in the day (and played on the practice field). I don't know if this is something that is done at the coach's discretion, or if it is a pretty uniform thing.

BO, the back 9 at Riverby is awesome, but the front 9 is just blah. That's why I was so disappointed that everybody didn't get to play the back.

Of course with all the rain, yeah, you're probably right, not the best course choice.

Back 9 is definitely more entertaining than the front (from what I recall), but I didn't think the front was all *that* bad. If you hit the ball in the fairway, it wasn't in horrible shape for mid-April. The fact that 12 or so of us could get out on fairly short notice with no one around was nice, too.

Cincinnati

I see Cincinnati has made remarks (Coach Kelly) lately they are committed to DI football and keeping coaches around. Another program raising the bar in OH..... Cincy area will be tough for MAC schools to contend with when recruiting with the 'cats looking up.
Ohio poll this year:

1 OSU
2 CINCINNATI
3 BGSU
4 TOLEDO
5 KENT
6 OHIO U
7 MIAMI

That is due to their proximity to the Cleveland Browns. They are a giant sucking force of nature, out of which even rumor of a football team can not escape.

Just out of curiosity, where do the Browns rank in that list? My guess is maybe #3 or #4.

No no, that is a list of Division 1 college schools.

The list you are looking for would start with Mt. Union.
