This is an interesting column in SI. It makes sense to me. A black coach who builds and sustains a program in the MAC may do himself a lot better than he would by jumping to a BCS program that may have some structural problems.
I also saw another column discussing the fact that the MAC now has the majority of the black head coaches in D1, and making the same point if Miami and EMU can be successfully turned around.
