No coach would plan to score less. That is just a stupid thought. Clawson will just have a differnt approach to scoring. Or geez, maybe, play a little defense so you don't have to score 30+ points to win.

I don't mind the West Coast, just keep some elements of the spread to neutralize the more athletic teams. I we try to run power formations against the big boys, we will get killed.

NFL style west coast offenses simply don't work in college football unless you have superior talent operating it like a USC. The dynamite offenses are the ones that spread the field and aggressively exploit the mismatches that college defenses will give you, like a Texas Tech or a Florida.

In theory, this is what Brandon's offense was supposed to do and did do for about 4 years. However, in the most recent seasons we regressed significantly from the 44 point-per-game glory days. The play calling got way too predictable, all but adandoning the vertical passing game in favor of horizontal dink and dunk passes where the goal seemed to be to get to the sideline instead of down the field.

Clawson and Ruggiero bring a hybrid approach that has worked very effectively at multiple places and was never really given a chance to work at the one place it did not. Plus, any offense is only as good as the players running it, and Clawson has already proven that he can bring the type of playmakers to campus that will win those mismatches and put points on the board.

He said he was changing the system from what we were doing to what he wants to do offensively. Well, we were scoring 30 points a game for the last 6 years. That must mean he is planning to score less. I don't care, just win baby. I'll take 10-6 victories by running the wish-bone. You guys seem to think I don't want to win. You're nuts.
No one is saying that, but they are definitely tiring of your frequent PDAs with a tube of Kentucky Jelly and a Brandon blow-up doll.

Damn Nathan...let it go. What is the point of continued jabs at Brandon? He is in Virginia now...or did you miss the memo?

Did he kick your dog or something on the way outta town?
Did I say Brandon? I was talking about the soccer coach! ;-)

And no, he didn't kick my dog, were I to have had one to kick. He was too busy driving my beloved football team into the ground and telling me I am not a true fan.
