I am guessing the 5:30 start time against Akron might have been an ESPN thing. I would not be surprised if there were a second game that night kicking off at 8:00 eastern time to the West. The Tuesday game is at Buffalo so I think you are talking about the Thursday season opener.

We were fortunate enough to host 4 high school playoff games this past year. Hosting the playoffs all depends upon the teams that are playing. OHSAA tries to schedule the games at schools mid-way between the teams (TRIES does not mean they always succeed)It's the Journey... wrote:I stand corrected. It looks like the state champiionship games were held the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving in 2008. Our schedule should allow us to host the first 2 or 3 weekends with no problem and if BG is selected as a tournament site late in the tournament it would have to be a game on Saturday 11/21. With the field turf it will not be a problem.

Any educated guesses on the start times on some of the home games earlier in the season? Troy obviously is going to be 7:30 or so. I would guess Boise State would be a night game as well. Homecoming against Ohio U I'm guessing at 2 or 4, CMU probably 4 or 6.
Will the 5:30 Friday game feature beer sales again this year?

Is Temple in the MAC East or not? How do we go two years without playing them? Not that it's a huge game or anything, but I just wish they would throw those of us on the east coast a bone. I really wanted to see us play in Philly. Maybe we refused to go back after the disaster that was our last visit to the Linc.
Does anyone know if we're are now going to get a return game from Wyoming in the future or will that game disappear from the books all together?
Also, for the second consecutive year BG will not face the entire MAC East as we do not play Temple again. BG will play only two home games and and has three road games against the East, but the Falcons do play two of three games against the West at home.

Agree with hammb completely.....sometimes this administration just doesn't get it! 5 fricking thirty....you have got to be kidding me. No one would even watch the game on TV at that time because the news is on!!
At least they have a small excuse this year with the TV, and didn't pull; it out of the hat like last year!

Why is the fricking Miami game being played on a weeknight that late in the season. I was hoping to take my wife and daughter down to Hueston Woods for a long weekend built around the game...I guess those plans are out the window.
And 5:30 on a Friday conflicts with my kickboxing class...I'm not missing one of those

Well, looking at the schedule, I know I'll see everybody at the Kent game, since that's where I'll be living for the next 4 years starting this fall. As for the others, I'm not sure how many others I can legitimately make given my work schedule, but I really want to come back for at least one home game, although the Kent game will actually be a "home" game due to proximity. No worries, I'll be decked out in orange with a Kent St. student ID to get into the stadium. That'll ruffle some feathers for sure.

You know, I happened to realize a couple days ago that when I go to Kent in the Fall, I won't have a coat to wear that doesn't say BGSU. So, I'll be the grad student that wears a BG coat at Kent State. Oh well, they can deal with it.

Ain't no thing on the Friday 5:30 start time...its called half a vacation day...use one!
Kent State whoopin' will be a nice B-day present to self.
If you dare start thinking bowl eligibility it will be a stretch with the OOC sched being tough or evenly matched.
I could use a good roadie...how far is Marshall from Akron?

There is no other way to finish a season other than yelling at the top of your lungs among BG's players holding the Peace Pipe aloft!
Not to incite any panic or rumors or anything, but Boise State has a little different take on the '09 schedule, calling it just "tentative"...
