However....more could have been done. I think that's the saddest thing about his tenure here. Last season could have been a really special season...it should have been a really special season, but it wasn't.
It seems like Brandon's teams did the best when the least was expected of them (streak that closed 2008) and the worst when more was expected of them.
Couple that with the off field stuff and you get sent packing...
I think people know I supported Brandon til the end...but a change was needed, it's the business. We did have 3 bowl apprearances in 6 years..that was great. BiG wins over BCS teams, always awesome. Putting gobs of points on the board, fun to watch.
But on the other side, only one MAC title game appearance, off the field legal problems and academic problems were bad. It amazes me with the East division, BG never got to the MAC title game...is was 2003 when we won the West. The East hasn't been good in a few years and yet we never made it to the game. Very disappointing....
Gregg Brandon advanced BG football to a solid level...but someone else was needed to put us at the top of the MAC.
