I don't have to like the fact that we run a 175 lb RB into the line game after game and carry after carry and average 2.4 yards per attempt. You guys "get over" the fact that I can be upset over that.
See, the problem is, people have answered your question, but you just don't want to accept the answer. The coaching staff has placed Rice in the position they think he can best help the team in. That's why you don't see him running the ball. I've said it a few times, and so have several others. But you'd rather ignore that so you can whine and cry about how nobody answers your questions. Contrary to what you may want to believe, the collected football coaching staff of Bowling Green knows a lot more about this game than you do and thus are much better suited to evaluate the best use of a given player.
Yes, our running game is kinda weak this year. But that is not because we haven't put Rice in to run the ball. It's just a fact that the players available aren't the next Walter Payton or Barry Sanders. The team is playing to the best of their ability and unfortunately, that ability isn't as strong as some of us might like in the running dept. Now this is not a slight against Geter or Bullock, or any other particular players for that matter. It's just a fact that our passing game this year is simply that much stronger than our running game.
All that being said, we are 2-1 in MAC play, and this program looks to be headed in a good direction for the years to come. It wasn't going to be an immediate glorious turnaround, but things do finally appear to be headed in the right direction again.
