That gives a coefficient of 1.02. Projecting Pettigrew's new weight using that coefficient makes him 187.3 (to the nearest tenth) in three years, or 12.3 pounds heavier than the RBs you believe Clauson will recruit. Shoud be plenty big to smash into the line.cowboyjoe wrote:Kind of like how Geter has gone from 171 to 175 in three years?

cowboyjoe...what exactly is your problem?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

My dad has a six foot long one hanging in the garage. A slide rule, that is. Brother had a variety of them including his personal favorite the keychain, round model that he used long after calculators became common place. Mine was 9" long and stuck out of my pocket as I walked the halls in high school. I come from a long line of nerds....

My problem is simple...give some frickin' carries to someone other than Geter! That's it. Quit reading so much into all of this. Then someone posted that Clawson was going to recruit "his style" of running back and I simply said that it's the same type of back as Geter in Pettigrew. I don't care if we win every game by passing every down...great! We, however, are running the ball so get someone else involved. People forget that even Sheehan ran last year and actually had the most rushing yards on the team with 457 yards.

Other people have been running the ball. Carries have been made by Bullock, and if I'm not mistaken, it was Sheehan who ran in the winning touchdown against Kent St.cowboyjoe wrote:Flipper posted "cowboyjoe...what exactly is your problem?"

Re: Downfield passing
Geter's the best option we have...Pettigrew is freshman, Bullock is inconsistent and has displayed penchant for fumbling and Tyler is not a beat you with his legs kind of QB. He lead the team in rushing...but he also lead the team in attempts and only averaged 2.3 ypc (I know...sacks reduced that number a bit, but I am not going to filter that out).
Oddly enough...the guy you trumpet as the HR threat, Jason rice had the same YPC (6.7) last year as the guy you seem so sick of, Willie Geter. I thin we need to improve our run blocking more than anything else...there are far too many instances where Geter is making a move before he reaches the line of scrimmage because the hole isn't there or someone missed a block. I'm not sold on any 175 lb guy being a three down back, but I'm not going to second guess a guy who sees all of our backs in practice on who he wants to give the bulk of the carries to. It's not like we're having trouble scoring points...
