Call (419) 530-3500 and speak with Tim. He's responsible for the performance of the Rockettes this year and because of their poor record, this game will not be shown on TV.
That is the dumbest statement I have ever heard. The game won't be on any ESPN channels, nor ESPN360.com. It is the first time it has not been on national tv since 2001. We've played on either ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, or ESPN Classic in 2000, and 2002 through 2008.

We were on ESPN2 in 2000, despite BG having a bad team that went just 2-9. We were on ESPN2 in 2006 despite the fact that both BG and UT were 4-7 coming into the game. We were on ESPNU in 2007 despite Toledo only being 5-6 coming into the game, an identical record to what Toledo could have coming into the game this year assuming UT can beat winless EMU (That's not a given though). We were even on ESPN Classic last year despite Toledo coming into the game 3-8. Don't tell me Toledo's 4-6 record this year is the reason it is not on TV this year. Not to mention, Toledo's game against Central Michigan would not have been on ESPN2 this year if that was the case.

You do realize that 99.9% of the members of this website HATE the Rockets, right? And that we will say things like this in jest to get exactly THAT reaction? Welcome to Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com!

Whether it was in jest or not, it was dumb. I did not smack back, so no one got the exact reaction they wanted. I gave simple facts.

And again, it is sad that this game is not going to be on national tv for the first time since 2001. The MAC is in a sad state of affairs. The leaders of the MAC, not just the past commish, have destroyed this conference, mainly in basketball and football. It's really sad.

It was not meant to be a cerebral assessment of the situation, but merely a joke made at the expense of our bitter rival. And a damned funny one if you must know.

FB Guy,
Don't know if you'd be interested or not, but we too are going to be in the Dayton area for Thanksgiving...I was planning to drive up I-75 to the game myself as my wife wants to spend more time with her daughter.. I've got a ticket available if you're interested in going... PM me and let me know.

The 2 o'clock start IS better for me, though it means a later return to Dayton area to our hotel (Comfort Inn - Miller Lane)...we'll head back home to Cleve. area on Sat.

It was still dumb, even if a joke. If you're gonna joke or smack, at least make it good. You know, any like those stupid lightning things on the pants of our uniforms, the two straight losses to you guys, or even the Amstutz ate another buffet (ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!) type of jokes.

But oh well, we probably won't be rivals much longer anyway. Between the financial issues at BG that could cause the University to drop athletics to DII or the considerations of dropping football all together at UT because of a lack of defense.....................

...We did NOT drop down to 1-AA. There was a lot of blabbing about it but no way, no how, did not, uh-no, did we ever change. Things were done to fix the attendance and league requirements.

If it's not on TV then there is no way I can be seduced by leftovers to stay home and watch this one on TV. I know that's not a problem for most on this board, but the cold weather+leftovers+TV has been too much of an attraction for me the last couple years.
I really would rather be there anyway.

I would love to, but I have a feeling I would be sleeping on the couch for months on end if I were to do that. I did tell her, though, that if I have a chance to win $10,000, we would be attending the game. I put my name in for the Meijer punt/pass/kick thingy. For $10,000, it's worth taking off early to get to the game.

It doesn't really matter if we were Div. IA or IAA back in 82. The matter is that the MAC, WAC, Sun Belt, and other smaller conferences in due time will all no longer be part of FBS or what ever they call it now. We have to be honest with ourselves that even if the MAC would ever put a team close to the position that Cincinnati, Boise, or TCU are in the so called BCS conferences are going to protect their own first.

If you don't believe me just look at all the preemptive hits Cincinnati, Boise, and TCU are taking from all the talk shows and blogs about how they shouldn't be playing for a national championship.

As for the BG-UT game.....why play the game when all the students for both schools are gone for break. I love this game being the last game but they have to move it to a different date. As for ESPN.....screw them, they don't give a s**t about the MAC any way.

Many schools in the MAC were forced down to I-AA by the NCAA in 1982, it wasn't by choice and the schools did not recognize the classification themselves. They fought it and the NCAA reversed the attendance rule and brought those schools back up to I-A after the season.
