Re: Thanks, Mr. Clawson...
There is certainly something curious about having a former Freshman all american RB who rarely sees a carry and a poor running game. Seems worth a mention to me. Especially in his last game as a falcon.

Doesn't seem the least bit odd to me....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

...for all you and your staff did this year to bring out the best in Tyler, Freddie, and the rest of the Falcon Football team!!! They were a blast to watch!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

... For bringing pride back to BGSU Football. Thanks coach for a great season. I have not been this excited for an upcoming season since Urban Meyer took over in 2001!

Re: Thanks, Mr. Clawson...
Well, I'll tell you what has me so excited about next year, Negative Nancy. We have a coach right now who is not entirely betrothed to one offensive system. Unlike the past few years, if Clawson doesn't have the personnel to run the offense that we ran this year, we won't see nothing but QB draws next year. I think that much is clear. Recruiting ability also has me excited...Clawson picked up some very good talent last year despite coming into the recruiting season late. I'm very interested to see what this recruiting class might look like, especially on defense.Globetrotter wrote:Lowry, what has you excited about next year?
I haven't really gotten into everything here, either. For instance, I never did mention Justus Jones. I'm very excited to see what kind of a receiver he can turn out to be. But, in the interest of brevity, let me just say that there is no need to be such a downer, Debbie, when someone expresses optimism about this program moving forward.

How is asking someone what they are excited about negative?

Your condescension implied the negative. It is quite simple.Globetrotter wrote:How is asking someone what they are excited about negative?

I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.
Re: Thanks, Mr. Clawson...
Thanks for giving me hope for this program's future coach Clawson. I had lost complete faith in your predecessor so this hope is a welcome change.
I expect next year to be a struggle because we're losing Sheehan & Barnes, but at the same time I think next season will be incredibly exciting. Right now the commit list looks like the best since Urban was here...multiple 3 star recruits including one at RB, which I can't remember us ever landing. It's also going to be exciting to see who wins the QB battle and to watch as a young QB develops in whatever system Clawson wants to run.
I don't have super high expectations next year in terms of wins & losses, but I absolutely am excited as can be to watch as it unfolds. If Clawson is the coach I believe him to be, next year will be when we start to see the program take shape how he wants it to look. I find that VERY exciting.

Re: Thanks, Mr. Clawson...
Pettigrew was a *** RB on Scout as was Woolridge...Mahone and Brown were both ***'s too, but they moved to DB.....I think Ransom was *** on Rivals, but I'm not sure. Rivals seems to be handing out more *** ratings this year, but fewer ***** ratings.
I think next year will be a growth year...it will probably give us the first real look at what Clawson is aiming for so far as the offense goes. I think we saw bits of it here and there, but a lot of it looked like a tweaked version of what we did before. I Will be interested in seeing if he drops the split coordinators on defense. As badly as the defense played at times (like the last 33 seconds of the bowl game) it might be a good idea to give one guy the responsibility.
