I'm not going to defend Gee speaking out, but the point is valid. Boise and TCU don't play a schedule that is as physically demanding week in and week out that teams from the major conferences do.

That's a fact. And that wear and tear is what creates the huge difference between a mid major and most of the BCS conferences.

The BCS is a flawed system, but all this whining about Boise or TCU not being given a chance is tiresome, in my opinion. Take your big pay day and be happy. If the BCS didn't exist at all, you'd be playing in minor bowl games every year and not even a blip on the national scene.

I never argue that Boise or TCU deserve a BCS title shot because in my opinon noone 'deserves' the shot. Its awarded each year and not really earned. IMO they probably are not one of the best 2 but I allow for that possibility and this system does not. I'm speaking as if Boise won Friday but even if they did, there simply is not enough evidence to support anyone's case for being #1.

Until there are scheduling rules in place that force inter-conference play and those OOC games provide at least a reasonable indication of conference strength for that year, I do not recognize the 'AQ' being better than the 'non AQ'.

I have a similar feeling about Bball rankings as well. Money & power drive scheduling and I just do not see any way to put that genie back in the bottle.

Ohio State hasn't defeated a team who is currently in the BCS standings, and no team that they beat this year finished with less than 5 losses. I don't see how that adds up to them being ranked where they are.

What's stupid is that Michigan State is penalized more for losing to Iowa than what they gain in beating Wisconsin. Ohio State gets essentially brownie points for losing to Wisconsin in this case, it fails logic.

And yet this snobby elitist pansy is suddenly an expert on Boise State and TCU? Could he name the conferences they play in or other teams in said conferences? For that matter, could he name all the teams in the BiG Ten? If you yourself say you don't know enough about the X's and O's of college football, then STFU. Coming from a guy who once described a 13-13 tie with Michigan as "One of our greatest wins ever", well. He simply sees the money coming into osu and doesn't want to see that stop.

I'll put Boise State or TCU against osu in Cbus and give the Bucks 10 points. Those schools have EARNED the respect they deserve. As H2O said, make it happen Gee. Do a home and home with Boise or TCU. Until then, shut it.

Another example of this osu arrogance...it makes it so easy to root against them. Go Blue.
The OSU arrogance is very real but you generalize all OSU fans when saying that. The vast majority are not that way. Dr. Gee is the CEO of a major corporation called The Ohio State University. That in itself is the problem!
Sorry bro...the majority of OSU fans I've encountered are very arrogant...usually the folks that never stepped foot on the OSU campus. The people that actually attended OSU are usually more open to talk about other conferences and teams. The T shirt alumni are beyond help.

Not physically demanding? Have you any clue the travel Boise State does? Then compare that to OSU who rarely if ever leaves their home the first 5 weeks of the season.

Then look at schools in the SEC who NEVER play a non-conference game above the Mason-Dixon line. And never play a game in the cold.

Boise also has the disadvantage of recruiting players to play in BFE Idaho. And NOT ONE OF THESE VAUNTED TEAMS HAS THE BALLS TO PLAY A GAME IN BOISE in exchange for a home game. Boise has tried. They are too afraid or too miserly to give up a few dollars.

If Boise (and TCU) were in the SEC or the Big Televen they would be able to recruit even better players and would have absolutely NO trouble hanging with them.

Lastly, you think it's easy playing a season knowing that 1 loss will ruin any shot you have at a big payday? The schools in the Big Televen and SEC each get to have one loss and play in a huge paying bowl game.

It's good to see Gee saying what he does here in this article.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Saw that tweet a couple weeks ago. It's great that he's giving money and allowing them to come worship at the altar of OSU, but what a douche.

Did OSU get added to our schedule again??? I don't think so. Basically, WHO CARES!!!!! We get drawn into the discussion several times a year. Oh My God, did you see what OSU did/said now. They are who they are, and we are who we are. Let's focus a little less on them and a lot more on strengthening the brand of BGSU sports. We all know the landscape of mid major programs and that isn't changing anytime soon. So constantly pointing out what the big boys do is useless.

While I think this would have been a topic better left for the "other schools" forum, I don't have a problem with taking apiss on OSU whenever th opportunity arises.
