Bavaria is a long way from Toledo. There is no such thing as a big time Indiana football fan. And there is no orgasmically happy Egg.

Indiana is talking to Cooper, Solich and Charlie Taaffe.

On the otherhand, Rob Spence has talked to Clemson for the OC. Alvarez is interested if needed for Notre Dame, and one other school has been in contact.
Indiana isn't talking to any of those guys with the exception of maybe Taaffe. And your little slam on IU is pretty funny, considering how much IU has dominated the MAC. IU is 25-4-1 all-time against the MAC.
And how many of those wins come recently? I'm sure most of those wins are acient history. What has IU done lately? I mean besides have a firm grip on the basement of the big 10? Even PSU kept their streak going over IU this year. IU has no history of being a winner, if you love what you do then there is no reason to make a coaching change. Brandon showed that money is not everything by turning his head to UNLV. In all fairness to IU, it's a great school, just not a great football school.

Hey thanks for all the feedback!!!

And YES I AM a big time IU football fan. I realize that you can fit us all into a phone booth (vbg), but HERE WE ARE!! LOL

And I am a fan of FC Bayern Munich, a REAL football (the kind where you actually play with your FEET) team in Germany.

And YES, a home and home with the mighty Falcons would be the CAT'S MEOW!!!

So it looks like Neuheisel is out of the picture (darn), but the fact that the IU folks actually looked at him for quite some time is a sign, to me anyway, that IU is SERIOUS about its Football program for a change. They HAVE to be, that's where the money is, and Lord knows IU needs it.

So ya gots to spend money to make it, right??? That's why IU is coming to candidates with what may approach, or even exceed seven figures.

So my info is that Brandon, Patterson, and Elliott are top candidates. I know that Elliot interviewed this past Tuesday. IU has little or no interest in Solich or Heoppner. Haven't heard anything about Amstutz or Novak.

But two new names that have popped onto the radar screen are Charlie Taafe and Mike Cassity. So we'll have to see.

I think that Brandon is very attractive to IU because he may be likely to bring his entire staff with him. Our hated rivals the Boilers, did that with Tiller in 96 and they have reaped the benefits ever since (ugh).

And thanks for the good info on Coach Brandon!! Sounds like he is good there and would be good at the next level whereever that ends up being!!

So thanks again and SMASH EM FALCONS!!! Tear em up in the GMAC Bowl on 12/22!!!

GO INDIANA!!!! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!

I'm still an EGG :(

you have my respect for being a TRUE football fan.

anyone can jump on 'winning bandwagons' but, it takes a real fan to stick, when your team doesn't win

good luck with the search, hope they get someone you like and beats thee osu.

Bowling Green can't get too much better, but we still can't fill the stadium, and that has to affect the coaching staff. I know it affects me! --- So I look for Brandon to leave because he's raised this spectator issue on more than one occasion (it's clearly something that bugs him), and of course, $$$ is certainly another important incentive. If I could double, triple, qudruple my salary, I'd sure as hell leave. There is nothing wrong with that. Coaching changes in Div I football has become a game in itself. The "good" coaches keep climbing the ladder until they reach their level of incomptence, and then get fired (but not always -- get fired, i.e.). It's called the Peter Principle. Nonetheless, they laugh all the way to the bank.
I dare say that anybody who takes the Indiana job will understand about this Peter Principle thing very quickly. Indiana and football are not miscible. ----- Dr. Bucko has spoken

HI FALCON FANS!!! It's ME again!!

I figured you may be interested, what with Brandon being a candidate for the IU job and all, that someone posted on Indiana Rivals claiming to be a KSU players parent that Elliot has been hired, and that the team was told last night.

It sure DID start something over there (vbg) and many of us are trying to verify that (it JUST happened). It MAY be a prankster.

Still, I wanted to keep you guys in the loop.

But if you just want me to F&^% off, let me know!!! (I've heard worse from my wife)

My Prediction:
Brandon is not going anywhere except to the Doyt for practice after this season is over.
He has one of the best quarterbacks in the land with a schedule that could make BG next year's Utah.. if we win our big games at Wisconsin and at Boise State.
I feel that he wants to stick around to see what he can do with Omar and the crew - if things go well then.. he'll be gone, but not just yet.

Right...imagine how hot "Brandon" will be if he pulls off an undefeated season next year. We too would be going to a BCS Bowl. I know... that would be one tough task, but at least the mid-majors have a shot at it.

I think they beat Central Michigan this year. Not that that's a big deal, or anything...

Plus Oregon (on the road) and Minnesota, both ranked #24 at the time.

Plus we should have beaten Ill, NW, and PSU. I also think a 20-3 HT lead against MSU should have been maintained, but that's why we're getting a new coach!!! vbg

I assume you were speaking of Indiana. If not, OOPS.

When did "almost wins" and "should have beatens" become a good thing?

Well if we counted the other games, then we would have a
8-0-0-2-1 record. 8 wins, 0 losses, 0 ties, 2 shoulda, 1 coulda.

I have a degree in history, so all those number things don't work for me.

When you're an Indiana football fan. With the start they got off to this year, I thought they'd do much better than they did. That leads me to believe that if they get the right guy in there, they can win 7 or so games a year, or at least six and make at least semi-regular bowl appearances. Just like I said about CMU and the MAC the other day. They may not fight for championships in the immediate future, but if they get a decent coach in there, they can mess up alot of teams plans for championships, instead of being a bump on the Big 10 schedule.

Well it looks like the Elliott being hired by IU thing is a hoax. Not to say it won't happen. Just thought I'd keep you guys in the Loop, like I promised!! :D

And here is an update!! My source who at one time told me (early this week) that Brandon was NOT in the mix at IU has JUST emailed me with news that Brandon is NOW in the mix. Just keeping you guys in the know!!

GO IU!!! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!

I'm STILL only an EGG!!! :wah:
