Toledo got screwed.

The world won't care. Kvetching about scheduling "power conferences" will only make that worse.

They will NEVER vacate a win exactly because you'd open the book on every other game ever played that could be overturned likewise.

Yes, I'd be furious if BG got so screwed, but I laughed anyway.

Perhaps Beckman should petition the MAC to start cracking down on officials that pull stunts like this. He already has two games with which to draw examples from this year.
The refs at the Wyoming game were MAC officials, so I don't think that's the case.

It depends upon what is agreed upon in the contract.

Best guess - Syracuse would not agree to a 1-1 with UT and would not agree to using MAC officials.

Now we know why they prefer Big East officials (at least for another 27 months).

I believe I heard that the officials at the Wyoming game were from either the WAC or MWC. Could be wrong but I thought I heard that on the radio during the game.

We've been screwed by lousy calls against OSU...twice. It's part of being a fan of a smaller program. I enjoy watching UT fans twist and take enoyment in their misery...it's part of being a alumnus of BGSU

+1 :supz:
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

It's become pretty common place with the Rockette faithful(?) It seems to always be someone else's fault but their own teams in nearly every loss.

Yeah, but....the BiG East officials made a bad call. I had the game on while watching BG/MU on ESPN3. ut has a right to be po'ed but at the same time, there were 59 minutes of football previous to that XP where plays could have been made to help ut win. I believe one play doesn't win or lose a game....it may alter the final score but there are many other plays throughout the game. ut screwed up in OT throwing the pick. And yeah, it is funny to see Beckman carry on like a little girl.

That said, I am really interested in seeing the Temple/ut game...should tell us a lot about both teams.

If it happened to BG, I am sure the reaction would be the same. I agree one play does not cost a team a game, but this stuff gets old against BCS teams. This is not the first or will it be the last time a BCS officiating crew has done this to a non BCS team. The blatant missed fumble call against Ohio State in 03 cost BG valuable field position and about 3 minutes off the clock they could have used on the last drive.

The replay official should be suspended for the rest of the year. No excuse to miss that call. The on field official should also be disciplined/ suspended. Your only job on that play is to watch the upright. The official appears to be looking forward and not up on that kick.

If this happened in an Ohio State versus Nebraska game, it would still be one of the top stories on ESPN.

I have serious doubts about Beckman as a "game coach". When they played us here in 2009 and we held their RB up and strippd the ball for a turnover deep in our territory, he didn't rally the troops to try to get a three and out deep in our end...he spazzed out to the point that they flagged him 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct. They blew a 17 point led in the Pizza Bowl last year and now you have this decision to play for a tie when the best possible chance to win is staring him in the face.

He could be a choker....a guy with the yips...a candyass

Yes, we would also be peeved. It's just that spending as much time on the UT boards as I do, this is almost a common occurrence after EVERY UT loss to complain about the officiating and how "the fix" is in for Toledo.

Although I can't help but think that if there is truly a conspiracy against UT that it comes from their point shaving situation ;)

What was the line in the game? Did Scooter or "Gary" get a job as a replay official?

Sounds a lot like Indianapolis Colt fans.
