Ohio may have just won the East with that win
Re: Ohio may have just won the East with that win
[quote="BGWriter"]Clawson came out and took the blame for the Kent loss, which is good since it fell on the coaches to make sure the players didn't assume they were going to win (which they admitted they did, anyway).
I find that part a bit puzzling. How could anyone on this team assume they are going to beat anyone? They haven't played well enough two games in a row to warrant such ego.

I pointed this out last week. Everyone or most people anyway were acting like the Kent game was an automatic win. This team can't just show up and win, they are not that good. We don't protect the ball and we have been alwful in the red zone for what seems like 5 years now. Not going to win consistenly until those problems are resolved.

No way Miami wins out against WMU, Ohio, and Temple. If that happens that would be worthy of brick-sh*ttingFalconfreak90 wrote:But Miami is 2-2 MAC so they need to lose at least one more...how about tomorrow night against Akron at Yager?vwfalcon wrote:I would rather not even let it come to that point...
Win out and we are where nobody realistically pictured us at in the preseason... playing for the MACCWell, probably not but ya never know.

We just need to win out and have Miami lose 1 game and we are in. And Miami plays both Temple and Ohio yet.

It has also been pointed out to me that Kent State needs to lose again. They're the one team we wouldn't win a tiebreaker against.
Although remembering years past, the 3+ team tiebreakers never seem to make sense. But I'd love to have the Falcons in that position for us to worry about it in three weeks.

I'm not sure if we will be able to get the win against a very good NIU team...but look for this BG team to put it all on the field next week.
I see us putting in a similar effort like we did again Temple - Especially with an extra couple days off and a sour taste from the Kent game.

I think the MAC decides 3+ team tiebreakers with a good old fashioned jam contest. Whoever makes the best batch of strawberry jam is heding to Motown!!!

My preseason prediction for the title game was NIU vs BG, although I had us at 10-2 and not 7-5. I posted it in a thread just before the Idaho game.vwfalcon wrote:I would rather not even let it come to that point...

Miami rolls Akron, 35-3. I watched the game...Miami is playing pretty good ball these days but man oh man is Akron BAD....really bad. No offense at all and only a couple playmakers on D. The Zips won't be a contender for a long time. I didn't expect Miami to lose this game but it gets much tougher for them with Temple, WMU and Ohio left.

FalcOnfreak: I'm with you man. Holy jesus is Akron horrible . That may have been the worst performance I've seen In a long time. The defense looked like they had no Interest in even being on the field. I saw no effort and the players quit .. They need to move in a new direction , the kids quit. As far as Bg winning the east..'let's take it 1 at a time

They've been struggling ever since...JD Brookhart had too many off field problems in hist tenure and this Ianello simply looks like he has no clue what he's doing.Flipper wrote:Akron never should have fired Lee Owens...

Nice video. It's amazing to me how little things like uniforms can make such a big difference in team morale. I liked the flat-black helmets they wore also.

But remember the buzz when Akron hired Brookhart? He was going to be the next Urban Meyer.Falconfreak90 wrote:They've been struggling ever since...JD Brookhart had too many off field problems in hist tenure and this Ianello simply looks like he has no clue what he's doing.Flipper wrote:Akron never should have fired Lee Owens...

I think they should do an eight team tournament with the worst D1 schools at the end of the year. Akron, New Mexico, Idaho, etc. How fun would that be to watch? Akron on offense looks like a bad HS team. I know the weather wasn't great but how many passes were dropped by Akron.
