Va Tech wins and they are 6-6. Just asking but how does anyone feel about a possible rematch with them in a bowl? No thanks? Or, love to get another shot at them? That was a bad day for BG and the poorest they played all year and I am convinced no way are we 5 td's worse than that team.

Just curious to see what others think...

Mike, I'd agree that the VT game was far and away our worst game...but that being said, I still think it's a bad matchup for us...Even though their QB is rather inconsistent, trying to stop a 260 QB isn't any more fun than trying to tackle, or even find, a certain #1 from KSU. ](*,)

I'd be lying if I haven't priced out travel to Birmingham and DC.

Just sucks we will have to wait until after the MAC title game to hear about where we may be going.

The general consensus I'm getting from reading multiple bowl projection sites is that we WILL be going to a bowl game and will likely play against a non-AQ opponent, either from the Sun Belt, C-USA or WAC.

If I remember correctly, the 6-6 teams cannot be selected for at-large positions over at-large teams that are over .500. In other words, at 7-5 or 8-4 we stand a very good chance of going bowling (more so at 8-4), and I don't see why we would be staying home regardless.

Teams like VT while not that good still have the talent to find our weakness and exploit it.

Miami has seven loses anyway so they weren't going to one either way

As far as I know, this is not a real thing, though I've heard it too.

UCLA (6-7) got a bowl invitation last year to play Illinois (6-6), while Western Kentucky (7-5) stayed home. An utter travesty, but it happened. Link.

The big boys got that rule changed a couple of years ago because they were losing $3M - $4M of the bowl money payouts to the Non-AQ schools.

One can only hope Factman, one can only hope.

Making every 1-A team play 6 home games and 6 away games every year (and in the process banning out of division contests) would be a great way to start.

At 6-6 you qualify if your conference has enough bowl tie-ins.

We need to beat Buffalo...8-4 sounds much better than 7-5. UB has won 3 straight and will be a tough game. GO BG
