Anyone else have issues buying tickets online? Or is it just me?

Sounds like everybody was working for BG and the MAC (per John Wagner, The Blade):

'Steve Beck, executive director of the Military Bowl, said the Falcons brought "a lot of energy" to the process of earning a bowl bid.

"I took calls from congressmen from Ohio [about Bowling Green], and I took a call from Kory Lichtensteiger, who plays with the Redskins and is from Bowling Green," Beck said. "Bowling Green was very proactive, and it was nice to feel wanted."

The Falcons were one of seven Mid-American Conference schools to receive a bowl bid, which is a record for the conference.

"Our commissioner, Jon Steinbrecher, did a great job," Clawson said. "He did a great job of coordinating this. And even though we compete against one another during the season, we want to see the MAC get as much exposure as possible. For a 13-team conference to get seven teams in is amazing -- it tells you about the caliber of play in this conference." ' :supz:

I think the term you are looking for is Ticketbastard.

I did the same. Much better on the phone. Online my card kept getting declined....I called my bank and they said BG was accepting the card but running the charges through at $0.00. So it wouldn't go through.

Called and got the tickets ordered in 5 minutes.

Not sure where I saw it, but it was suggested that people who aren't going buy tickets to be donated to military families. I believe we must sell a certain number, so buy them through the BG ticket office!

GO FALCONS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

FF,
You're right on about this! Order all tix thru OUR ticket office...even if they become "overloaded" with calls..(at least I hope they DO).... Don't want to take a chance that our ticket sales won't be credited to BG... looks like I'm possibly on the hook for from 6-10 tix.... but what a NEAT hook to be on... depends on new baby daughter's arrival time (imminent) and whether this becomes a GUY thing for me and my sons and grandsons.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Just booked a hotel near old town Alexandria for well under DC hotel rates and it offers free parking! Offers a free shuttle to old town alexandria and a metro stop. Looks like 25min metro ride to RFK. For anyone with knowledge of this area how does this sound? I know Alexandria is a cool little area. Any input appreciated!

Man...I wish we could go....but the last few days of the year can be really tricky work wise, so we always stay in town.

Old town Alexandria is great! I was just there Saturday with the girlfriend and we had a wonderful day. Lots of nice little restaurants and shops, there's a Masonic lodge with a good George Washington museum. You won't be bored in the evening looking for something to do on King Street.

The metro is on King Street. I don't know how far it will be from your hotel. The DC Metro system is among the best in the country IMO. Give me a PM if you want my cell if you need any guidance that week. I'm not sure if I'm going to metro to the game or drive and bring my grill for tailgating. I'm leaning toward taking the metro.

Mark L, thanks for the quick response. Its the Hampton alexandria old town area at 495. 1 mile south of the old town historic and shopping district on Richmond Highway. Its less than 1 mile from the Huntington metro station. 80.00 with free parking and free breakfast sounded great for that area.

I can't say I'm 100% familiar with the Huntington metro station. The area of Old Town Alexandria I know better is off King Street which is like one or two metro stops north on yellow line. Great area. Price sounds very good. I hope you have a blast out here!!

Just bought my tickets. I'm a little confused about the fact that it says they are in section GA3 when that isn't something that's on the seating chart. Any idea where this is or where the BG sections are in the stadium?

I think they meant RG3...

BG doesn't have the actual tickets yet. The guy I spoke with, said, they would receive them in the next few days and then mail them. I think the GA3 is just something generic until they have section and seat numbers.
