Montgomery definitely made some noise on D last yr. With Bayer, Beck and Rolf at TE, we could afford to move him over.

I think Clawson realizes the D won't be able to bail out the offense to the same extent it did last year. The defense will dip slightly and this must be compensated for by a more explosive and consistent offense.
When Schilz was struggling last year, Clawson identified the issues in his comments to the media but could not seem to get them corrected week to week. I had hope that that 15 practices leading up to the bowl would rectify the problems but we saw the same stuff. Gallon, Burbrink and Joplin are not "rookies" by week 12. When mistakes are repeated again and again it's a personnel issue and if Knapke is the answer, so be it.
The entire passing game needs to get its act together: quicker reads, more accurate throws, receivers not dropping the ball and protection tightening up. If this happens, watch out.
