Quick halftime thoughts ...

1. This feels much like last year at Akron. We outdid them 24-0 in the second half.
2. Akron's offense lit up our D early. Since then ... very very little. 14 quick points and then nothing.
3. Akron's one drive since that got somewhere ended with a 1 yard punt and only got there because the refs missed a hold. Massive hold that resulted in a 20+ gain instead of 2 points for BG plus possession. Pisses me off so much. Game changing missed call there.
4. Our offense works best when we run.
5. Every time I think Johnson is looking like a new guy and maybe I miss the experience of Shilz, he makes a great play.
6. WR drops hurt ... unless it's Joplin recovering the drop for an awesome TD.
7. I think we're going to get a punt block or some big special teams play at some point today.
8. Our O line has been less than impressive. Not sure what's going on there. Last year similar happened and then the O line took over the game in the second half.
9. Our secondary is getting a workout. The way these offenses work is they dink and dunk and don't even give the opportunity for the D to make a sack. Instead the D has to focus on pressuring the WRs. I think the reason we're still rushing 6 - 8 is to keep them from running. Their run game is going absolutely nowhere, which is good because I don't want to see us fight a multidimensional offense, but still I don't like seeing the D getting beat up through the air like they did early.
10. How many times have we blown up a screen play already?
11. RUN THE DAMN BALL IN THE SECOND HALF AND WEAR THEIR D LINE OUT!!!

I dont like spotting leads because you can get burnt but it's nice to actually make adjustments.
