Makes sense to me. I like the idea of practicing outside the Doyt...it will give the players a different mentality.
I'd take it a step further and do what Miami (Florida) did when their new coach took over: practice at local high schools around the region. It shakes up the routine for the players and builds connections with the schools and their teams/communities.
