Any Hilltopper fans snooping around? Trying to get some advice on where to tailgate Friday afternoon.

Need to wear orange if going to the game. They are having a "white out" and we want to show BGSU presence. They are giving away T-shirts (white).and schedule magnets per promotions.

I bought mine through WKU and printed them off, BG told me at the end of July they had totally sold out. Hopefully you guys get your tickets by the end of the week.

Beer is sold in the stadium. Price is not too high.

Tailgate locations are odd due campus being on a hill. Most visiting teams camp out at bottom of hill near baseball and softball areas. Larger parking lots are found there. I would suggest you walk around campus after you secure your spot. Being on a hill it is quite beautiful. (yes I know everyone thinks their campus is beautiful). You will find pockets of smaller grass tailgate areas in a you work your way up the hill. They will be hard to find and some of the good ones are season pass pay lots. But you could get lucky.

Outside of the stadium Alcohol of various types will be all around you....you just will not see much of it. That is, drink and have fun, just keep it in a red solo cup and you are fine. You are in Kentucky, so people will be nice to you....for the most part....but there are of course pin heads everywhere. Oh, and there will be tons of girls in short red dresses with cowboy boots. Bring your sunglasses because it is not polite to stare. They too will have a red solo cup. Oh, Do not bring cheap bourbon. Again, you are in Kentucky....you know, a state that names counties, well....Bourbon. It is perfectly acceptable on game day to put your 10 year old Pappy Van Winkle in a red solo cup....but again, only on game day. Now, If you have the 23 year old stuff, well, save that for basketball season. And for the love of God Yankees, never mix your bourbon with anything.

Friday night game, I don't expect a big crowd.

Have a great trip, be safe, and smile, it is football time.

My mom graduated from WKU so I have been to a couple basketball games. Agree on it being a pretty campus. Excited to see my first football game there. Thanks for all the information!

Let's get some game predictions going in this thread.

I have much respect for each and every opponent we play (as our team should too). I also have a few concerns entering this game. All preseason long our guys have heard how good we "should" be. We need to ignore all of that and come out hungry and ready to prove ourselves all over again. It's 2014 and 2013 is history. We're 0-0 and if we want to start the season off the right way, we're going to need to play well to win this game. We have several unknowns with our new system, coaches and fresh faces filling new roles. We've been saying all the right things in camp but Friday night when we take the field against a new foe in front of a crowd against us, how will we respond to adversity? When - not if because it's gonna happen - when we get punched in the mouth, how are we gonna respond?

WKU has a solid team, is coming off a very good season itself and will be opening up in its own stadium. No question we're gonna have to be firing on all cylinders on offense and our defense needs to be great again. I feel like this is going to be a close game. And we all know those kind of games have been BG's Achilles heel in the last five years or so as 3 of our 4 losses came by 3 points or less last year alone (7 total points separated us from 10-4 with a bowl loss over 13-1 and a bowl win). Winning one of those kinds of games right out of the gate, especially on the road because we're gonna have to beat a number of good teams on the road to repeat as MAC Champs again, could go a long way fir this year's team. This game won't make or break our season, but it's gonna tell us a lot - and finally show us what we've have - in this new season of change. GO BG!!!

From what I've been reading, WKU's defense is young and inexperienced and it could be an opportunity for the offense to possibly ease into the season, we shall see. I think BG will score points but it all comes down to how well the defense plays and how fast they get off the field.

Western Kentucky lost a lot of talent on defense, which I think will ultimately be decisive here. We might sputter offensively in the early going, and the defense never seems to start fast, so it may be close or wku might be leading by a score at the half. It won't last though. BGSU lowers the boom in the 2nd both offensively and defensively and wins it convincingly in the end.
