Matt Johnson CAN apply for medical redshirt
Re: Matt Johnson CAN apply for medical redshirt
Nice catch. Not sure about it being typical though.

We are fans, this is what we do. I appreciate the present.Globetrotter wrote:Why are we talking about the future and not just enjoying the present. Can we please finish this season before we talk about next year? This thread is pointless!
Typical pessimistic attitude coming from Kdog27. Saying goodbye to players long before they are gone.
I just want the good times to continue without having to break in a new QB.

What is "typical"...is it average? Sometimes, when you look at an entity that is an exact statistical average of the entities in its set...you find that the average is in fact atypical when compared to the field.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Hey all, been reading for a while and decided to join in. First, I found out that Matt probably will not be granted a redshirt. His dad contacted NCAA and asked. He was told that he more than likely would not be granted due to taking a voluntary redshirt his freshman year; take it for what its worth. Also, I know that this is under a different post, but will add here. Piazza and Hunter have bulging disks.
Re: Matt Johnson CAN apply for medical redshirt
Thanks for the info. It certainly can't hurt Johnson to apply (if he in fact even wants too). Better to be told no than to assume you'd be denied if there's a chance - even if it's a long shot - to be awarded one. It's happened to others players in similar situations as his. It would be a damn shame to see him lose that entire season having not even played an entire game last year. But if it is indeed his last season, hopefully he can help guide us to another MAC Championship and a bowl win this time around. Anything less for him and this team just wouldn't be right.Tech2000 wrote:Hey all, been reading for a while and decided to join in. Which Hunter were you referring to, Darrell or Ryan? I assume you meant Darrell since Ryan is playing. Do you know if Darrell is expected to make a return this year or is he out (I read where Piazza is out for the year)?
GO BG!!!

We didn't get into that conversation. So I just figured enjoy the ride this year. And yes Darrell Hunter. Also have other news but because there has been fans from other teams has been on the posts has me wondering who else may read them. Will respond to email

Bulging disks?....the SID better be extra careful when typing that injury report

Exactly, and I would love to see a denial juxtaposed with their pious rhetoric about being all about student-athlete welfare.BGSU33 wrote: It certainly can't hurt Johnson to apply (if he in fact even wants too). Kingston says "Every day is a game day for an administrator." Well, test that theory and put them to work. File the application and persuade them of its worthiness. Cite other examples and make the case. If anything deserves the time and energy of our administrators it is this.
