Re: Hope for Matt Johnson 6th Year
FYI, Johnson said today he has not decided about petitioning for a 6th year and will have a decision after the bowl game. He gets his degree after this semester.

He could get a 6th year and xfer immediately to play for Dino because he has his degree.

Re: Hope for Matt Johnson 6th Year
Johnson was asked about next year in this week's presser. Sounds like he's still not sure what he plans to do, can do or will do at this time. Worth watching the video for those interested.

He seemed kind of intrigued by the graduate transfer question...

I thought the same thing when I saw that. It was if the seed had been planted the second the question was asked. I often wish reporters would ask questions that never seem to get asked. That one, however, was one I wish was never brought up.Falcon137 wrote:He seemed kind of intrigued by the graduate transfer question...

Re: Hope for Matt Johnson 6th Year
I was skeptical that a quarterback could pull this off as easily as a defensive back (hey to Eilar Hardy). Then I saw that an Iowa State quarterback is transferring to Buffalo for grad school. So, apparently, some people think you can transfer and immediately be relevant as a quarterback.BGSU33 wrote:I thought the same thing when I saw that. Jake Rudock did it in conference. Going from Iowa to Michigan.Schadenfreude wrote:I was skeptical that a quarterback could pull this off as easily as a defensive back (hey to Eilar Hardy). I think there is close to a 0% chance Johnson is cleared by the NCAA (assuming he tries to get a 6th year), I would say the odds of him being granted one and then leaving are less than that.

Russell WIlson would seem like the obvious example going from NC State to Wisconsin.Falcon137 wrote:Jake Rudock did it in conference.
