I love the competitiveness, but saying it in a public forum is not a good idea. From what I heard, there was a lot of BG trash-talking on the field before the last meeting and we see how that ended up. No need to give them bulletin board material.

From what I was gathered, it was BG talking a whole lot of $hit and got Toledo really fired up. Why a team would be talking $hit to a team that has owned them is beyond me. How did Toledo respond? With their play, jumping out to 20-0 and 30-7 leads. Obviously UT needs to win today to get in, but you know they WANT to play BG. Wouldn't we want to play a team we've beaten 6 times in a row too? Hell yes we would.

Gonna be a tough 10 days to wait.
Whoa...whoa...whoa...slow your roll my freak-friend...lol

Let's just hope for 25,000+ and go from there. ;)

There's just not enough local support in Detroit to reach those lofty heights IMO.

I really....REALLY....hope BG wins the MAC Championship. We need to take full advantage of this opportunity and finish this year. Winning the MACC in 2013 was fantastic! One of the best games and atmosphere (BG fans were awesome that game). Last year's MACC was a dud and we were never in it and NIU rolled over us. BG's gotta close the deal this year.

It will be interesting which niu qb will play. The other night they were using 3rd and 4th stringers.

Last time we had Matt Johnson under center, we beat NIU by a pretty fair margin. No excuses. We should be going into this game 8-0 in the MAC, but what's done is done. Beat the Huskies, win our bowl game and gear up to win in the Glass Bowl in November 2016.

Or September. Or October. With the MAC scheduling, you never really know when we'll play them.

Win the MAC!!

One thing we can expect in the MACC is, a little of the unexpected. This game has proven time and time again to feature a lot of unexpected things, including some upsets. BG was one of them as no one expected us to throttle NIU like we did two years ago. Or for Miami to beat NIU, or Buffalo to beat Ball State, or Akron to beat NIU, etc. I myself was already preparing to likely face Toledo. So were some of our players. That went right out the window today and we now need to focus hard on NIU. And it's gonna start with stopping the run. That is going to be the #1 key for BG vs NIU. If BG can defend NIU like Ohio did the other day, we'll be in good shape. If not, we're gonna have our hands full.

Good point 33...there have been MACC games that were like WTF? Anything can happen in one game.

We need to be focused and ready.

Our opponent in the MCC just got beat by Ohio University. We should have this...

.....Which led me exactly to my point above. Upsets happen in the MACC all the time. NIU "should" have beaten BG in 2013. No way in the world "should" Buffalo have beaten Ball State but they did. NIU "should" have beaten lowly Miami but didn't.

Further, all of NIU's losses were close. They only lost at Ohio State by 7, to Boston College by 3, to Ohio by 5 and to CMU by 10.

Watching this OSU-UM game is what had me most concerned about NIU. UM can't stop OSU's running game and the Buckeyes also run the QB. This is what NIU likes to do, but is also capable with dangerous wideouts of hurting you if you fall asleep loading the box. When a team can run like this and doesn't have to throw and the defense knows they want to run but can't stop them anyway, it can make for a very long game.
