bgou, I took issue with your post.bgou wrote:I am a proud grad - class of 85 - and love the brown and orange, but could we please stop waxing on about the damn uniforms and helmet colors. I couldn't care less if we wore pink, orange or magenta as long as they win. Nobody cares what we think anyway.
I commend you on commenting in this forum with your first post. A lot of people just read, which is great, but very few open themselves to criticism which is very admirable. It is obvious that you are a "proud grad" and I do not want to be confrontational, but the negative spin on an otherwise constructive forum was unnecessary.
I imagine many here, including myself being relatively new to ay-ziggy-zoomba, feel that this is a nice way to discuss all issues concerning BGSU past and present. And since we are all waiting for the first game with OU, this is maybe a less relevant discussion that can still be informative, even it doesn't affect the team in any real way. Once the season begins, discussions will undoubtedly switch to games and the goal of having a winning program that shines on national scale. In fact, I have been complimented on BGSU's great season in 2003 on a number of occasions here at the University of Kentucky, not that I had anything to really do with it. However, despite the uncomplicated issue in this forum, it is still likely that many here are interested in getting the new jersey this year and may even collect BGSU or MAC helmets. This discussion is a nice way to feel as a part of the team by being a fan that wants to informed about their team and not just a spectator.
My other issue is that you think that no one cares what anyone on this site thinks. Obviously, you are not a booster of BG Athletics, because Athletics programs definitely care what we think. The next time you feel the need to rip people on this site, make sure you back up your argument with more than rhetoric stating that no one cares what we think. We are all just trying to get a little more information on our team and trying to show them our support in anyway we can, even if it is only about their uniforms at this time.
