And he probably didn't exert too much effort to find the details out. Which is my main gripe in this whole argument. The Blade, and especially the Sentinel, always seem to give the BGSU Athletic Department special treatment and always give them the softball questions. Never want to dig too deep on a story.Schadenfreude wrote:Probably because he did not have them.CrazyFan wrote:Article provided no details.Schadenfreude wrote:And yet: We wouldn't know about this were it not for The Blade.CrazyFan wrote:Exactly! BGSU sent Wagner exactly what they wanted him to print. It was his turn to get the "scoop". Remember, BG gave the punching a woman "scoop" to the Sentinel. The good news "scoops" generally land in the lap of Strack.

Did I say anything from about sweeping problems under the rug? I said to not speculate, to wait for facts. The blame game....
You should also blame the BG Municipal Court for covering things up, because when I went to their website to look up both students, I didn't come up with too much other than Brian Jennings hasn't had a good 2017 so far.CrazyFan wrote:And he probably didn't exert too much effort to find the details out. Looking outside of my office window right now, and I see two black helicopters hovering near the Sebo Center and Doyt Perry Stadium.

Crazy Fan I don't want to pick a fight but you seem to want every story to fit in a 1 hour time frame like some cop show on TV. The facts take time to come to light and all the details are not shared before it comes to court. I understand you want more from the local newspaper but I'm not sure those of us that grew up in small towns think we're entitled to every detail.

Yeah...the local media doesn't do the job when it comes to getting in there and exposing the dirt.
Thank God for citizen journalists like the Tillers who are willing to take action...to stick their necks out there publicly and use those mobile phones to stand up and say "NO!! You will not behave like this" to the drunken sexual abusers who prey on BG's female population.

No you didn't. My apologies for making it seem like I was implying that. I was merely using your post as a slingshot into my opinion. And you right. Throwing around false accusations is as bad as not acting on real problems. We should expect the truth. But my opinion is the local sports reporters do not work as hard to discover that truth because they are in bed with the athletic department, and the bad press is just as important as the good press. The university controls what stories go out and how much information is given. When its good we here all of the details, because everyone in the athletic department tweets about it and how great they are. When its bad press, even the local media, who should be the ones to investigate it and get us answers, are slaves to the university and only release what the university wants them to release. Then its cloudy how much institutional control Jinks really has on his team because the university is hiding all the facts. That's my issue.MarkL wrote:Did I say anything from about sweeping problems under the rug? I said to not speculate, to wait for facts. Drunken sexual abusers, with no history of sexual abuse, who prey on the people who come to the bar with them? Thank god for Flipper. Willing to flip any thread into topics like gender orientation and how to handle being punched by a female MMA fighter. I repeat, you must fight back when Amanda Cyclopse takes a swing at you.

It's the people who want to rationalize abusive behavior that present the real danger...they remain among us creating an enviroment for abusers to flourish after the miscreants have been purged

Re: Two players charged with forgery
You are incorrect sir. The Tillers are not citizen journalists. They are citizen cons. They are citizen trash. It's takes a big person to pull out their cell phone and secretly record another person because they don't like what that person is doing. Then it takes an even bigger person to send their snobby college aged daughter over to give that person a lecture on the morals of life and then inform him that they "got him" and have been secretly recording him on their cell phones. And its takes the biggest person to then take that video at 3am in the morning when they were drunk themselves, and send it to that person's boss, in an attempt to con the university.Flipper wrote:Yeah...the local media doesn't do the job when it comes to getting in there and exposing the dirt.

Re: Two players charged with forgery
Yep, people like the entire New Mexico St. athletic department, who chose to hire that person less than 2 years later. I wonder why the didn't even look at Huger? My guess is they actually dug into what happened. But, go ahead Flip, take what happened and make it sexual abuse. When it comes to BG athletes, no one should ever take that leap to judgement with no charges. Remember?

Flip Flopping Flipper is at it again. The only consistency is gender orientation.

Your inability to recognize sarcasm coupled with your inability to resist responding to your buttons being pushed make you and a few others prime targets for Flipper. It makes this board so much more interesting to read when Flipper is matching wits with the unarmed.guest44 wrote:Flip Flopping Flipper is at it again. The only consistency is gender orientation.
