It's not covered by anything in the NCAA guidelines and rules. If you look at most of the Penn St. sanctions, most have been rescinded and Paterno's victories restored. They made a mistake sticking their noses in that, and would make the same mistake to do it again. This needs to be a legal issue, and if you are raped, don't go to the school, go to the police. Big time coaches have little incentive to punish players. Their jobs and money depend on winning. It's the Journey... wrote:If this isn't "Lack of Institutional Control" I don't know what it. I also know this is not an isolated incident. The sport of gymnastics on the men's and women's side must change and hopefully now it will. This is not over and could radically change sports.
I certainly hope so.

If you are a college student, I agree. But at MSU these were, in many cases, children going to people they trusted who ultimately failed them.daspollak wrote:. . . and if you are raped, don't go to the school, go to the police. By law if you hear about sexual assault you report it to title ix who is supposed to investigate it and make sure it goes through the legal process.daspollak wrote:It's not covered by anything in the NCAA guidelines and rules. I can't fathom the decision making that would put their wins and money over sexual abuse/assault. The incentive should be simple, stopping this from happening.
