There's one winnable game on the schedule and it's Murray State. 2021 is going to be a carbon copy of 2020 unfortunately. Program is going to need another year or two after this to finally have the foundation needed to compete within the conference.
I had similar thoughts. There's more than one winnable game - put South Alabama, Akron, and NIU as winnable games. It is going to be another down year. A freshman / sophomore team going up against veteran teams is not going to fare well but it is going to mean an investment in future seasons. If indeed this year is the end of the bleeding in terms of veteran classes disintegrating, then maybe we're finally making real progress rather than stuck in neutral and reverse ... though making progress from a far negative position.

A thought I had. Womens basketball just won the regular season title. That team a few years ago was a total disaster. Moose hired a new coach and enabled Fralick to build the team from foundation. And the results are now evident. Sound familiar?

Of course there is a huge difference between basketball and football. One or two good basketball players can win a game. Building a football program takes years to develop and recruit. Talented freshmen can win you a basketball game but football freshmen are generally not strong or tough enough to win games, especially on the lines where we had true freshmen all over the place this past year.

Point is, give it time. Moose has already demonstrated talent in hiring coaches. So let this thing play out and have some patience.
The ability to hire an incredibly successful women's head basketball coach, one who had demonstrated a ton of success as a head coach previously, seems to have very little correlation to hiring a football coach.

Moose stupidly gave Huger a massive raise and extension as well, so I can just as easily argue that Moose has demonstrated an inability to evaluate coaches.

I don't care for the FCS games, but I know why we do them.

I would also prefer just one one-and-done road game each year rather than two. But I know why we do those, too.

Maybe Buffalo is a W opportunity for us now? 6 starters transfer to Kansas with Leipold!
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

I'm not going to call it a W automatically, but they've lost 10 guys from their projected two-deep in the past month. Crazy turnover.

Nor would I pencil it in, but glad when other teams are circling back to rebuilding, as we are hopefully on the climb out of the abyss.

BG announced football will back at 100% capacity this year.

I think we can all say, irrespective of how good/bad the team is, it'll be great to have a Saturday tailgate again in the Fall.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
