Re: Press Conference
The OL is broken...largely...because Loeffler broke it. I have zero faith in his ability to fix it or anything else here. We have something like 8 QB's on the roster and none of the back ups are good enough to push McDonald?

Re: Press Conference
They're all fair questions. My biggest issue is the entire team has regressed and we've yet to hear one good explanation from the staff as to why that is.

Re: Press Conference
I agree. They need to be better, is an understatement. This requires development and some incoming talent. But how did we beat Minnesota with them? How did we hang with Kent, S. Alabama, even Tenn to a degree, with them? Why do they now look like the bad news bears? There was talk of bowl eligibility not so long ago…… I think the current situation is the direct result of scheme, coaching and the will breaking of their confidence. There is enough film to exploit us. No adjustments. All bad things.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: Press Conference
Mostly everyone. There are a few who hope for failure so that they can look like the smartest people in the room and justify their grudges. But yes, that's where Loeffler has started to lose me over the last few weeks. The open alienation of people currently on the field is never a smart move, regardless of your position in the program, but especially as the head coach who recruited most of them.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 12:32 pm My critique is the HOW. You can keep these struggling guys here to develop without alienating them to the point of bolting. It’s that simple. Somehow, this has devolved into a stupid circular argument. Everyone hopes for the same thing.

Re: Press Conference
I don't really think that's even true. There may be some hoping that the wheels just come further off the train in the hopes he gets fired sooner, but even those are probably pretty rare. I think we all want the same thing: success in BG athletics.BillyLP wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 1:53 pmMostly everyone. I know I watched that game hoping to see the team turn around, and I sure as hell didn't want to lose to Toledo the week before. I've resigned myself to the fact that Loeffler is here for another season, at the very least, and I see absolutely no reason to root against this team. I think Scott Loeffler is a god awful football coach in nearly every way. I don't think he has a leadership bone in his body, I think he's among the biggest excuse makers I've ever seen as a head coach, and I think his resume as an Offensive coordinator is among the worst resumes to ever be granted a promotion to HC. Still, when I watch the games I hope to be wrong and see the team experience success, there's just simply no reason to root against my alma mater. When we're bad at football I basically just check out entirely from college football.
Besides, if given my choice I'd much rather see the university use buyout dollars to get us a new basketball coach than football anyhow...

Re: Press Conference
I'd love to be wrong about Loeffler...but I'm not. Rather see wins than losses...but I recognize the utility in the losses. Do I like needling people who still cling to the hope that he'll turn it around? Yes...is that a dick move? Maybe...
At this point, I just want this process to play out so we can hire the next guy
