Indiana basketball is doing something interesting for NIL. It looks like a media entity is putting it on but obviously IU is allowing them to use the facilities.

I did see in a recent email we were raising money for our football team to eat healthy meals, snacks, and protein shake. Nutrition incentive letter (NIL)

Was at the bottom of the bgsu athletic email yesterday

To be fair, he is busy dealing with a shooting & trying to find a softball coach. Plus, Covid and staffing shortages, the built in excuses.

You should email the toledo ad pretending to be an alumni/fan and see if you get a response for comparison. Although I'm not sure how nicely you worded the email to moose

What? You think I would default to rude? Like I'm not an adult capable of asking a simple question?

No not what I was trying to get at. I just wasn't sure of your original email was a question or you stating your displeasure in the lack of action for NIL by the athletic department.

I am curious if other mac athletic directors would get back to email asking about nil involvement

Simply asked the man what BGSU's approach to NIL is in light of the program announced by UT.

How much effort does it require to respond to an alum? Even if it's a simple " We have the issue under review" or something like that?

He had no plan last July. Almost a full calendar year later, he still doesn't have a plan. You don't respond to simple emails when the person emailing might have a better grasp on the subject.

I think this is supported by SL’s general responses when asked basically shoulder shrugging with its unchartered waters, waiting how it plays out type replies etc….

The good answer would be: we put together a team of Business leaders, Athletic Dept personnel, administrators and legal counsel to devise a strategy that fits BG and our ability to compete in this arena moving forward. We will present the plan at a dinner with alumni and the business community on….
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Honestly might be better tweeting a student-athlete who is currently signed to an NIL deal from someone like Elite Collegiate and find out how it's being organized, etc. Bob probably won't comment on the matter unless someone like Briggs wants to do a story about it.

There is no organization or assistance from BG, at least across the board as a team. Players are to report any “deal” to the school. No one is getting a notable pay day. Kids like mine sought things on their own. He, as an example gets some free T-shirts, protein, supplements, etc…. No cash.
