Seeing as though I was alone from the recognizable AZZ flock, at least "recognized" to me, I quietly peered into the Recruit Party only to see Josh Harris! He looks to be in great shape and was joking and talking with a few of the coaches. The coaches from the looks of things were spread out throughout the large room and panhandling with many big-wigs, but were all in good spirits.

I think this is a solid class, I am curious to see if it is a great class. I think last year's group came in with a little more "wow" to them, but with UC moving up to the Big East, things were much more difficult this year.

I too am glad to see the attention that was paid to the DL and DB areas. Although, I wonder how well a 5-10/165 WR will fare in the MAC . . . He's a defensive back!!!!

That's a good assessment, and about what I thought when I read the bios a minute ago. Time will tell, but not the star factor that last year's class had.

This is a good point.

I really think the shine is about to come off the Big East, especially from the perspective of Cincinnati.

The league isn't that strong, and I don't see Cincinnati doing all that well in it.

Give it a few years, and I don't think the MAC will have a problem going toe to toe with Cincinnati. But, I'll grant, this year may have been a bit tough.

Maligned though John Harris' column today was, the Big East is only part of UC's appeal. Their dynamic OSU-trained coach is another key.

Who all went to this and how was it? Was Brandon happy with the class, any words on the SAC or anything along those lines?

It was cool. I think there were far more people this year than last.
I think the coaches like this class. We shored up the defensive backfield and the interior line on both sides of the ball.

No mention made of the SAC, but they did the pictures featured on the website mounted on easels.

What makes these gatherings essential (for me anyway) is the opportunity to listen to coach Brandon break down the tape on the recruits. It's really interesting to see what they are looking for in a player in terms of his physical attributes
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Of course, he's going to talk positively about the class he signed. According to the coaches, there wasn't a bad class in the nation.
