Until I started tracking this site, I assumed schedules were set in concrete years in advance. It was a revelation to me that schedules, or at least out of conference schedules, appear to be almost as fluid as an Athletic Director's job.
Hats off to the scouts. What a hard sell. Imagine. "Hey, kid, why don't you come and play for us? Although we might have been playing at Ann Arbor next season, we're inclined to take a road trip to Cleveland instead, then we're likely to do some blue grass, and we'll tell you about the rest of the 2005 schedule when we've got letters of intent on next year's recruits! Two things for sure - we'll play half our games at home, we could could win either the east or the west, with Temple somewhere in between, and the clincher is that we're already slated at a 15 -25 national ranking, whoever we play!"

If you are referring to what I said, I only said it because he used three posts in five minutes to rip on BO. As far as the schedule go I have come to expect it, actually I find it more annoying when people try to make a joke out of it now, when they always say stuff like: when we play UofM next yearBGorDeath wrote:This is a problem I see on this site. Someone posts an honest question, but did not follow the Internet ettiquette that many believe to be a religon of some sort and this poor poster gets ripped because they didn't scour the 4 billiion pages that have been created to see if at sometime this has been discussed.
Leave the guy alone. If you see the topic isn't of interest to you, then move on. Don't berate someone for asking a simple question.

In other action, the Council of Presidents approved the divisional and crossover football opponents for the 2005 thru 2009 football seasons.
Per Mlive.com, BG will be playing WMU as a crossover next season and I assume we will also be playing TU too. That leaves one crossover. Do we know who the last one is yet?

I don't know how much of the "back and forth" with home games they're going to try to keep for us. We might not get Miami at home, even though we went there last time, but I would think that teams we played last year would swap evenly, which would mean WMU would probably be on the road, UT will definitely be at home (I would go on a rampage if they screwed us outta THAT home date!) and then the other West game might depend on how our home/away schedule falls inside the East. We'd get CMU or NIU as a home game, or BSU or EMU as a road date.UK Peregrine wrote:

As for the East schools, and who's "turn" it is to host, going by my random theory here, we'd play:
OHIO (at athens last year)
at Kent (vs. Kent two years ago)
MIAMI (at oxford two years ago)
AKRON (at akron 2001)
at Buffalo (vs buffalo 2001)
I don't know how this would mesh with the other East's scheduling order, but given that and put the extra crossover on the road, it evens our schedule out perfectly.

Well if we want to run the tables in the MAC and try and finish undefeated I would hope it would be Eastern or Ball State, but if we are trying to impress the BCS committee, then I hope it will be Northern.UK Peregrine wrote:In other action, the Council of Presidents approved the divisional and crossover football opponents for the 2005 thru 2009 football seasons.

That looks good to me, TG. Buffalo is only 3 hours from Akron so it would be the longest road trip in the East for us.TG1996 wrote:I don't know how much of the "back and forth" with home games they're going to try to keep for us. We will have UT as a crossover game...
