Wisconsin is a definite. Boise is right now, too!! Planning on taking trains out west...should be a fun trip!

McMetz: Have you checked the Amtrak timetables, etc.? If not, you might want to do so now. I love travelling by train, but it has its own set of challenges.

Wisconsin = YES
And my son and 2 of his friends (1 a Badger alum) are planning on it too, but sitting in BG section if I have anything to say about it.

Boise = ??? Not sure...may depend on how many freq.flyer miles I have, exact date of game (as related to Wis. game) etc.
Would love to see the Blue Smurf Turf up close and personal though.

I think McMetz will be going by plane to Boise. I just looked at the Amtrak schedule for Boise. Nice vacation if you have a few days, but not sure I can afford to take that long to get to and fro.

Toledo to Boise $173.00

Departing 14-SEP-05: Toledo, OH (TOL) To Boise, ID (BOI)
Capitol Limited departs Toledo, OH 6:43 am
Arrives Chicago, IL (Union Station): 10:19 am 14-SEP-05
4h 36m

Empire Builder departs Chicago, IL (Union Station): 2:10 pm
Arrives Spokane, WA 16-SEP-05 1:40 am
37h 30m

Bus departs Spokane, WA: 16-SEP-05 11:05 am
Arrives Boise, ID: 9:00 pm 16-SEP-05
8h 55m

Boise to Toledo $173.00

Bus departs Boise, ID: 18-SEP-05 8:00 AM
Arrives in Spokane, WA 4:20 pm
9h 20m

Empire Builder departs Spokane, WA 19-SEP-05 1:15 AM
Arrive in Chicago, IL (Union Station) 20 SEP-05 3:45 pm
36h 30m

Capitol Limited departs Chicago, IL (Union Station) 20 SEP-05 5:35 pm

Sounds like a fun time but too many days (for me)

My son and I will definitely be at Wisconsin. Easy for us: take the Lake Express from Muskegon to Milwaukee and then drive the remaining 60-odd miles to Madison. Boise too far as we have other trips planned and it would stretch the travel budget too far.

Wisconsin: DEFINITELY
Boise: Hopefully

And thanks to whoever suggested hitting a ballgame during the Wisconsin trip. I've talked my dad into going with me up to Madison, and hitting a Brewers game on Friday and a White Sox game on Sunday (unfortunately, the Cubbies are out of town).

A roadie to BG and the bowl (TBA)
I'm with '87 on this one. I'm taking the Freaklings to all the MAC games instead of going to Wisky...Boise is out of the question. Plus, I need to save time for the MACC and Bowl game. Besides, I am planning on taking the family to the Arizona State game in 2007...funds are being put away for that puppy!! Wisky and Boise State should both be on ESPN/2/Gameplan.

Every other game besides Wisky and Boise? We'll be there.

But McMetz can handle nine hours without any problems. After all, it was 14 hours down to Mobile.

 I just found out that we are hosting the Ohio Association of College Admissions Counselors Articulation Workshop for Northwest Ohio on September 16. I'm not sure if I can get out of that or not. For $292, I'd like to go to Boise (and yesterday it didn't matter to me because I thought it would be too expensive).

Sounds like you'll be watching on ESPN!

RE: McMetz ... yeah, but we're talking a 9-hour bus ride after 42 hours on a train.

"You Are Not A True Falcon Fan If You Say..." Why Go To The Game When Its On TV?!?!?!"....You Are A True Falcon Fan If You Say...WISKY HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I am a true Falcon Football fan cuz I've had season tickets since 1996 and have been following BG football since the early 80's. I go to 8-10 games a year. I am not planning on taking my boys to Wisky or Boise due to cost and vacation time being saved for the MAC games. Am I not a true Falcon Fan? :?

Just thought I'd ask...

the MAC games are more important anyways. sure wins over boise and wisky would be nice and probably have us ranked in the top 20, but our only guaranteed ticket to a bowl is to win the MAC.

so yeah freak, i'd say you're a true falcon fan.

I took the traing from Rochester to Glacier Park Montana in 1992. (Empire Builder). It was a lot of fun, but if we hadn't sprung for a private room, I think I'd have gone mad.

And, Freak, if you're not a "True Falcon Fan", I can't imagine what the rest of us are.
