THIS IS FANTASTIC, we have to ride this wave... i know that there are some really bad typos and that no one has any clue how good of a TEAM that we have, but we HAVE to take this opportunity and run with it because we are so unheard of to so many people, i've been trying to spread the word about BG here in West Lafayette for 3 years!!! and seriously the most success i had was telling people about how good Josh Harris was, they didnt care about any stats or anything team wise that i told them, but they were impressed by Harris, now we have Omar and people that i have tried to force into liking BG call him a Harris clone, now of course i know this isnt true at all, but i like the idea of them thinking uh oh they got a QB just as good if not better than that kid that came here and beat us, so i know this isnt the ideal way that we wanted to get in the spotlight, but we must ride Omar all the way to the top and even build him up maybe even a little better than he trully is... if thats possible? lets face it we are a little school and we got the best QB in the nation.... that is unfalconbelievable, lets ride him into the spotlight to get our 15seconds of fame, and then try to keep that fame by good TEAM FOOTBALL and of course by THE BIGGEST FAN SUPPORT we can possibly muster, come on everyone get fired up about BG FOOTBALL, i wont call you a band-waggoner, come join me!!!!!!!! (im gonna beg my dad to see if we can get season tickets!!! and he said we can go to the Ball State game since that is much closer.. pray for gas prices to go down and for my dad to open his heart to me!!)
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
Slow down.
Breathe.
Punctuate.
As for the ESPN piece, it's not just typos, its incorrect facts. If they had written "Shawn" or "Sean" Suisham, it might be a little different. Getting an NCAA record holder's name wrong is quite another. Writing that one of your key things to look for is a school that (by the graces of God) isn't even in the conference anymore is horrible. The Leininger thing.... well, A) at least they spelled his name right.
and B) maybe they know something we don't know, and they hold the blueprints for the Sebo Center and Convocation Center in their hands while we sit in the dark.

I'm just glad to see that we are getting some recognition, and that they are starting to believe that we have a good football program here. I personally sent that link to all my friends down at OSU, and that school up the road. Let's get pumped for this season and hope that we come out throwing and bury Wisconsin, then Boise and finish the season by making a run at a big-time bowl game.

Well, at least neither of them are named Betts.
And, WOW! Mr. Jacobs is a REAL contender. BG has made it to the big time in football, this would what, the fourth season BG has been ranked in the top 25? BCS watchout here comes BG!(I just wish Miami coulda kept it up
) It's good to have a VERY good team from one of the most respectable institutions in the MAC at the forefront of the publicity push.
Good to see the mainstream media calling the BCS schools out EARLY on this. Don't give me the SOS line to explain why this won't happen. It will. BG & other top-tier "mid-major" schools are going to have an increasingly difficult time getting these types of games scheduled. It will be interesting to see if folks like Maisel keep this issue in play.hammb wrote:Not using Firefox. Cool, Grant's got OS X.![]()
BTW, did anyone read Ivan Maisel's "three things I can't wait to see"?
MAC teams have 12 games scheduled against Big Ten teams this fall. Biggest upset chances: Bowling Green at Wisconsin on Sept. 3 and Northern Illinois at Northwestern on Sept. 10. You have to wonder, though, now that I-AA games will count toward bowl qualification, whether MAC teams will have trouble making deals with the bigger schools.

I'll just be glad to see the BCS disappear. You know that the only reaso that clause was placed into the BCS is to try to get these I-AA teams some money. They all just need to suck it up and keep playing MAC and Big West teams, if for nothing more than we need to keep looking better1987alum wrote:Good to see the mainstream media calling the BCS schools out EARLY on this. It was to make more BcS schools eligible for post season bowl games so conferences like the MAC, CUS-Texas, and other mid-majors do not get the measly payouts. Remember, this is a six conference + ND coalition that keeps over 90% of all post-season monies.

I think they happen with every team, it's just a website. It's just that you are not going catch a spelling error of a kicker from the ACC or the loss of a d linemen because you don't know enough about those teams. Those errors don't bring down the fact that we are getting good pub.NY-BG-FAN wrote:People can love espn.com all they want for the increased coverage of the MAC and all the nice things they say about out conference and school, but they still really don't care. If you read the MAC spring recaps, ours includes "Shane" Suisham, and they have Leininger listed as a returner. Do you think those type of mistakes will show up in an ACC spring recap? I doubt it. If ESPN isn't willing to proofread and fact check on the MAC, who is?
