This isn't a democracy. This is a private club.

I've had it with your pissy attitude. You accuse us of being bandwagon fans, and you don't know squat.

As I said Saturday:
Sir.

I know of agony of which you cannot comprehend.

I was there on a cold drizzly day in 1990 when -- after five straight losing seasons, Moe Ankney began running the pole cat out of desperation against Ball State. I watched the Falcons get sacked three straight plays, looking all the while like a like a pee wee football team suffering severe collective ADD. I watched us lose 16-6. I was there.

I was there in 2000 when -- down 42-7 -- our own goddamned cheerleaders began cheering for Michigan.

I was there a week later when Buffalo broke an 18-game losing streak against the Falcons. I watched Buffalo fans call our players losers as they walked off the field. Buffalo fans! I was there. I watched it happen.

You are the worst kind of fan. You are a frontrunner, a bully, a person who gets his rocks off rubbing other people's noses in misery.

In other words, you are worse than the worst Dallas Cowboys fan.

And you don't know **** about Bowling Green.
You are revolting. You have no respect for us. And I want you banned.

I agree. CaliSooner should be banned. He didn't come on the board to discuss football, BG, or his team. He came on to pick a fight. Talk about obnoxious.

Suit yourself. But if you people post outlandish predictions of the game and then misconstrue how the game actually went you should expect people from the other team to have something to say about it. I think you should grow up.

You don't even get it.

We have folks here who have been watching Falcon football since the Eisenhower administration, and you have the nerve to call us bandwagon fans?

That's absurd. You don't know anything.

I've followed OU thru thick and thin dude, so I get it just fine. I didn't go anywhere during the Gibbs-Schnellenberger-Blake years. The thing is this, most of your fans I ran into were a lot like the original post described. Not all of them were drunk, but they were arrogant as hell and said things like BGSU should have been ranked above Kansas State because they finished with a better record and only lost to ranked teams, blah blah blah. A lot of the fans of yours I met really gave the impression of people that didn't know a damn thing about the sport but just wanted to mouth off since BGSU was getting successful -- the behavior of bandwagoners. Sure you have old-time fans just like any school, but I haven't met too many of them.

Calisooner (can I safely assume you are from California?),

Don't presume simply because you follow a team of larger stature and larger budget than that of BGSU that you automatically know more about the game of football than we do.

Allow me to put it this way, Mr. California Dreaming, we've been playing football in this state since your relatives were panning for pyrite.

Calisooner's comments

Post by Class of 61 »

Calisooner,
I know you've been posting here for awhile now...and, unlike some others who want you banned, I don't have a problem with an ongoing dialogue... However, the original post from one of our people was somewhat critical of OUR BG fans who allegedly were being obnoxious etc. As my post name might suggest, I'm quite aware of a great deal of history in college football, including the Wilkinson days at OU, the long win streak at that time etc.
I've also attended BG games in places too numerous to mention here...my previous posts have complimented the many Sooner fans who've taken the time to comment about the game, before and after... and nearly ALL of them have conducted themselves in a class manner... believe me when I tell you , our exchanges with OSU fans last yr. weren't nearly as "nice".
In summary, some of your original posts were on the inflammatory side, which is why you get negative reactions when you come back on with other negative comments. I said it before, I'll say it again...I've become a fan of Okla. this year, in part due to the class shown by so many of your fans on this site. Why can't we keep it this way? If BG fans behaved like fools, I'll not defend them anymore than fans of other schools. Hopefully, they represented a very small portion of the group that went to Norman. I only wish I'd been able to make the trip. :-\

As I have said to many others that accuse me of being a bandwagon or fairweather fan:

My favorite team is the Montreal Expos.

checkmate,

thanks for playing.
