WELL DONE!!

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

EXCELLENT POST Shadenfreude!!! :supz:

Only thing I would like to add is that the team arrives at EVERY game on two campus busses and they walk in together. Usually they are all in suits, but this game (NIU) was different, as we all know!!! It is AWESOME to watch these guys walk in. Many of us from the East Lot tailgate area (now known as the AZZ Tailgate Area) go over to cheer them on as they walk in. Very neat tradition that I hope never goes away!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Love the walk to the stadium. This photo of Josh & Noah is one of my favorites from the WMU game...

Here's what Bob Beasley sent me after reading this thread...

Incredible! Pass along my thanks to your members. I could use this kind of forum every time I write a travel piece. I particularly like those who posted pictures -- nice touch.
Many thanks for all of your help.

I'll keep you all posted as to when the article will run. Thanks for all the feedback!!

Two thoughts, though:

1. I'd head out to the west side of town to check out the enormous windmill farm out there. It's the biggest east of the Mississippi; they don't call it Blowing Green for nothing.

Well, this might've been the case a few years ago, but recently a "wind farm" if ya will was put up west of DeKalb, IL near Rochelle that has over 80 of these things. If you're ever out that way, its worth checking out.

Other than that, Great post!

BTW, Does Snakeman count as a tradition? I've seen him at almost every football game I've gone to, near or far.

The windmills weren't up a few years ago.

I should have said the *turbines* are the largest east of the Mississippi:

Sorry about that.

Sure, why not? He bums beers and food from every tailgate party in the lot getting himself stinking drunk prior to staggering into every game. What a great representative of our university!
