Den,
That sounds like the C-bus chapter too. I asked once about hitting a game as an alumni chapter and was informed that there isn't enough interest to take a bus to BG. If it doesn't involve wine or beer tasting or a cash bar then they aren't interested. What really cracked me up was who they thought Ed and I were BG Maniacs because we go to so many games at BG. Most of them haven't been back to campus since they graduated(how sad is that.)
That's funny, the part about being BG maniacs. The sad thing is, this happens everywhere. It isn't the "cool" thing to do to go back to your alma mater and give back or support things. People have ridiculed me because I coach at my old high school. I think that's sad. It's the same as you said, they haven't been back since they walked that aisle. A place that gave them an education, supported things they wanted to do, and paved the way to get elsewhere in life is no longer good enough. I wish more alumni would take a look at what got them where they are and support it, whether it be college or high school.
DU-53,
Here is a true story from the BG/OSU game in 2003. I ran into my old roommate from Rogers and his wife at that game. They were all decked out in OHIO STATE stuff. Mind you they BOTH are BG grads. I shook my head and asked him "What are you doing???" He said, and I quote, "We were afraid to wear BG stuff here".
WTF??????? THAT would be the day.

He emailed me a couple days after the game and said how good BG looked. Of course! If you would pay attention to YOUR alma mater, you'd know. What a Richardhead.
My sister, 1987 BG grad, was a guest of the OSU swim coach in a loge at that game. She is a swim coach at the local Y. She wore an OSU shirt. My dad and I were po'ed about that. She said she couldn't wear a BG shirt in that loge....then don't sit in the loge!!

I guess she may have had a point, being the guest of the coach, but still!!!
At least my awesome wife Dana helped out. She is a 1989 OSU grad and was all decked out in ORANGE! Score one for the good guys.
I can't believe the people that graduated from BG and never go back. How could you not????
