I would submit that we deserve a bowl game just as much as any other 6-5 team from a Bullshit Championship Series-affiliated conference. And there are always quite a few of them. I
I have to disagree. Most of those teams have beaten at least ONE decent opponent and at the very least played a much more difficult schedule than we did to get their 6-5 record. Our "signature" win was against a 7-4 Miami team in an ugly, ugly game. The teams we beat had a combined record of 17-39. Beating up on the bottom 10 teams in D1A, enough to get to 6 wins, does not make you a bowl team.
I'd have to look around the country but I'd be surprised if there were more than one or two 6-5 teams that have a worse bowl resumé than we do.
We aren't going bowling, so we may as well start making tailgate plans for the spring game
No way is any bowl going to give an at large bid to a 6-5 team that was one game over .500 in the MAC. Quite frankly, we all know the lower bowl bids have little to do with football. BG is a fun team to watch, but a 6-5 team from a BCS conference is going to sell five times the tickets BG would (see HOME attendance figures). Plain and simple.
Besides, we have conference losses to two teams that most likely won't get bowl bids: Western and Akron. You gotta figure that these teams are more deserving than BG and would be ahead of us in the "at large line." BG had some bad breaks this year, but as it stands they don't deserve a bowl. An injury, call or break here or there and this team could have been 9-2, but they aren't.
first of all, cfnews knows nothing. Their site is a joke. Second of all, we don't have a shot at a bowl. Third, to answer the question of why would a bowl take BG over Toledo, the only reason a bowl other than Motor City, would be because Omar would sell a few more tickets than any other teams in the MAC. No one would travel to Mobile, but they could hype a highly touted NFL prospect and maybe sell a few more tickets than if NIU or Toledo is in. As everyone knows, the question isn't who deserves the bowl, but how much money would the bowl get. That being said, we aren't going to a bowl.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

NIU is screwed if they don't win the MACC. That would be something given NIU beat UT in their own stadium a few weeks ago and won the division over them.
