I'm a little disappointed... it just looks like a tent. We're spending $9 million on a FREAKING TENT!!! A tent that looks nothing like the drawings we saw!

Oh well, at least they got it built ahead of schedule.

Sure, I'm with you. It does look like a tent. Rome may not have been built in a day, but the Sebo Center was.

Stupid off topic question for San Diego Falcon:

I am looking at a trip to the LaCosta spa in Carlsbad right after Christmas. Have never been there. Is this a cool place & is the weather good?

You can PM me back, but I thought I would try & catch you here first since I just saw your screen name & figured you were in San Diego & would know!

Alleged?

Well, it's officially underway! Ground has been broken on the Sebo Center. We still need to raise approximately $3 million dollars.

They are optimistic the facilty will be completed in a little more than a year.

Watch Channel 24 News tonight for coverage on the groundbreaking.

I thought they were going to hold a roast for Bob Sebo at the beginning based upon Krebs comments.

The biggest news I heard -

1. We still have $3 million to raise

2. They (Sebo, Krebs, and the Athletic Department) want that thing built, built to look like the architects renderings, and want it built as soon as possible.

Krebs, Dr. Ribeau, Teddy Piepkow, and Mr. Sebo spoke. All four spoke about the need for the facility and what it will mean to future Falcon athletes.

I also took a look at the donor list. Nice to see a few names on there in the B!G money categories. I hope to see even more names in a few categories at the ribbon cutting in '07!

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to go over to the meet-and-greet at the Ice Arena. Tomorrow is Preview Day and I needed to get back over to the Student Union.

For those of you that are Falcon Club members and want to give, don't forget the Bill Lloyd Challenge. Contact Jane Myers < [email protected] > in the Falcon Club Office to learn more about how you can be a part of this facility. The nice thing is, gifts can be pledged over a five year period.

falconboy probably thinks the groundbreaking was faked on the same soundstage as the moon landing.
