Our defense looks awful
You are so very right. Right now the only positive I can see is Omar is the real deal. IMO he is better than Harris ever was. He was 12-16 at halfitme and I think three of those incompletions were dropped. If we had half a defense...Cork wrote:We can move the ball and then it looks like we lose focus. The play calling is really dumb. We've penalized ourselves right out of a TD.
The officials are pretty bad but it's not causing us the game: except the holds that aren't being called.
The good news as I see it: Omar is better than Josh.

Omar has more natural ability than Josh. I don't think he's quite as good as Josh was lat year, but I think he'll get there.
We've shown a rather distressing tendency to get smoked on the road against good mid major teams the last two or three years. (NIU, USF, Toledo, Miami, NIU again) We just haven't been competitive. That's something you'd hope to grow out of, eventually.
Two losses in September....we haven't been in that position since what 2000? The season isn't over. NIU isn't going to win out. We pretty much have to though.

In my perspective Jacobs runs every part of the offense better than Harris, from seeing the field to running the ball. I don't want to take anything away from Josh but I really think Omar is the atom bomb, he did not get much help tonight. He was the only one out there giving it his all as far I saw. Except for Newson, If we had 10 more players on D that played like Newson we wouldn't be talking about this right now. Truely a poor effort after the first quarter on both sides of the ball.Flipper wrote:Omar has more natural ability than Josh. What about a pass rush?
I know, I know our run defense was non-existent, and that is being nice. But what the hell has happened to our pass rush? Three frickin' game, 0 frickin' sacks.
So no pass rush + no run defense = No MAC Title.

Uhhh...Truth...We already have an "unoffical student section" right behind the opponents bench. And it's a hell of a lot closer to the opponents than at Dekalb. In fact, Brandon's bought those seast and gives them to the craziest students he can find.truth wrote:we've also been screwed by the mac for allowing niu students to sit right behind us AGAIN. I'm calling for a unofficial student section right behind their arses for next yr. AND THEN SOME. FORK UNSPORTSMANLIKENESS. i'm george w and i approve this message.

Don't put us on tv again.
Why is it that we don't really come to play when we are on national tv. Besides the game at HOME against NIU, we really haven't come to play when we get picked up nationally. We made a good showing last year against Ohio State, but they played close games all year. What the heck is the problem. Being in Houston, I don't get to see that many BG games, and when I do, I would like to see them play well. Oh yeah, and what's with letting teams run 9 min. drives in the fourth quarter when we need to stop? Somebody freaking stand up and say hey, let's make a play and hit somebody.
Their student section was right behind the bench. The entire East side of the stadium all looked like students actually and they all had those dang thunder sticks. Also, this year they moved the away team section to the opposite side of the field so we were not on the same side as our team. While it may not seem like a big deal, many of us were cheering as loud as we could and I'm sure the BG players never heard it.truth wrote:2 questions. where is the niu student section..
