Schilz looked very good at taking care of the ball. Some of his throwaways yesterday would have been forced throws and picks last year. He's strong and accurate but has been turnover prone in his first two years. I think he will have an outstanding year this year leading the offense. And unlike in 2010 and much of 2011, we have a good running game this year so he won't need to do it all on his own.

just back to NC...Like everyone else disappointed with the drops and the kicking game, so won't say anything else there. Overall I liked what I saw, but of course left kinda depressed. I knew UF wasn't that good and that we could hold our own, and the missed opportunities were crushing.
One thing that bugged me that I haven't seen discussed much, thought the end of half management was terrible. For both halves. The conservative playcalling at the nd of the first has been talked about, but the second half pissed me off just as much. Down 13 with about 1:20 or so left, UF throws the ball on second down. No idea why they did it. But anyways, they run on third, we have two timeouts left, but don't use one. Even if they make the field goal, it is still only a two possession game. Instead we let them run the clock down 40 more seconds, so now we literally have not shot. Would have liked for coach to give the team a chance there.

Disagree with MarkL in saying UF could win their division. They have no shot. They do not have Quarterback. And they have UGA and USC in their division. Tim Tebow is not walking through that door. They will compete for third with UT, Vandy, and Mizzou.

I disagree with you. The SEC East is wide open and the talent gap isnt like the west where bama and lsu are head and shoulders better than everyone. With the exception of UK the East is full of teams that could be ranked anywhere between 10-25 at the end of the season. Florida is better than what you are giving them credit for IMO. They will win ir be right there in all of their east games I think. ...

The Gators may not be like the Tebow years but they are still loaded with talent...They could win the East but the way 'Bama and LSU are going, I don't see anyone in the East winning that title game. GA is a bit overrated at #6, IMO.

After watching the game on DVR, you are absolutely correct. That happened at the other end of the stadium from our seats so I didn't get a very clean look. It was not pretty. Boo Boo would have taken his head off.

They are loaded with talent, no question about that, however they have no QB, and not much of a coach. Why do you think UGA is overrated? They are loaded with talent and were missing 5 starters on D to injuries/suspension against Buffalo. More importantly, they have the easiest schedule in the SEC East, which is why they were in Atlanta last year, and likely will go back this year.

The SEC is normally won on defense. Florida has a far better D than Georgia which is why I think the Gators have a legitimate shot. It would take a herculean effort and a lot of luck for anyone in the east to beat either LSU or Bama though.

The fact that BG went toe to toe with these guys tells wonders of how good this team is. No mistakes Saturday are impossible to fix.

I am not ready to say that after that game. Their gameplan clearly was to run it at us for the most part. If it looks like this after the A & M game then I will say you are correct. Keep in mind neither of those guys have much game experience.
