Week one they looked confused on every level...week five the front seven played pretty well and the secondary appeared to be...at several points...completely incompetent.

Hell yeah we've improved...

I don't see any improvement from Week 1 to Week 4.

I wholeheartedly disagree. Week 1 I couldn't tell what our scheme was. We look disorganized, almost like chickens with their heads cut off running around. This week I can tell what we were doing. I could see the pressures we were bringing and the coverage. If we were healthy, we may be far better but we aren't so young guys are getting time and learning the schemes and the pace of the game. If we play like we did mid third to mid fourth on D, we'll be fine. Problem is we got away from that scheme late in the game and nearly coughed up the lead.

They had 630+ yards.

Yet for mid third to mid fourth they shut UMass out. It was a mix of better scheme (hey coaches!!) and better play. They CAN play well but I've not seen a consistent effort even in a game yet. I do believe the D will continue to improve as the year goes on. And they also started at a low, low point so improvement is necessary. Secondary needs to play tighter so the front seven doesn't have to bail them out all the time.

I hope you are right. I just don't know though. Are we switching up players? Are we adjusting the schemes at all. Or are we simply saying what I am doing will work we just need to get going with it.

My biggest beef is how some of the players, not all, but some are carrying themselves on the field. The arrogance is unacceptable.

Lucked out today. WMU, Toledo and Akron will beat this team if we continue to play like this....maybe Ohio and UB. I'm glad we won but man are we in trouble.

I'm calling for losses to Ohio, Toledo and Akron. We'll beat Buffalo and probably Kent State, and WMU and Ball State are toss-ups. Five games and that's where I stand. I get that our defense is going to be on the field more and will yield more yards because of our offense, but they are simply being shredded!!! We're allowing twice the yardage as we did a season ago. I could see allowing 100-150 ypg more but 300 ypg more??? We're just not getting better or making improvements and it will, not maybe - it will - cost us .

Gotta wonder what his status is with the team at this point. He could be hurt, suspended, gone fromthe team, and we'll probably never know.
