This is not unique to the MAC, or even college football.

Mobile QBs that can pass enough to keep defenses honest win at every level. Those that are elite in one or the other (passing or mobility) can be elite at nearly any conference of college football.

And you are correct Scot Loeffler has again brought in a transfer that cannot run because he has proven time and time again that he knows nothing about how football is being played in 2023. Somewhat hilarious since the only QB he's ever "coached" worth a s**t is Tebow, although I'll never believe he was allowed to offer any advice to him beyond which flavor of Gatorade he recommended.

We have this bright, energetic AD who's hired a couple of seemingly very well qualified coaches in his short time here....and then we have this lump running the football team. It's pretty frustrating...innit...

The players prefer Orth, coaches are going with the transfer. As I have noted before, there is NO competition for these spots, when they guarantee the spot to get the transfer to come here. QB’s are screwed when that happens, more so than other positions. There is only 1 QB…. And they aren’t going to try to get on kickoff team or other ST spots to get on the field. With the Rube Goldberg offense and our o-line is not yet here….it’s going to be a long season. Not exactly Re-Loading.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Handing someone walking in the door the starting gig is a huge mistake...you put the kid behind the 8 ball because his teammates resent it and you send a message to everyone else that what they do on the field is irrelevant

This extension may go down as worse than Huger’s.
The new AD lost a lot of my confidence with that decision.

Not when that player is Connor Bazalek. And they didn't hand him the job. They have been practicing.

Connor Bazalek is the best QB BG has had since Matt Johnson at least. Probably all the way back to Josh Harris.

I would doubt they promised him the starting job no strings attached, but their evaluation may have him as the best guy.
I wouldn’t necessarily trust Loeffler’s evaluation, but Orth didn’t wow in any of his appearances.

He is definitely not a better QB than Matt Johnson. Matt Johnson was a very good college QB. He didn’t have the size or accuracy to play in the NFL, but the kid could play QB.

Bazalek is going to be stepping into a bad scheme with an unproven at best offensive line. There are some skill position weapons but I don’t have any confidence they are going to be put in positions to succeed. Stewart is the only guy that I think is talented enough to excel if he’s given the ball enough.
I think 4 wins are about right. They got lucky last year with all the backup QBs they played. I don’t see Balzalek making much difference to change that.

Bazalek has never thrown for more than 2600 passing yards in a season and got benched last year with a 13-10 TD/INT ratio....why anyone thinks the guy playing for his 3rd team in 3years is better than guys like Harris, Omar and MJ is beyond me. It's laughable...

Johnson wasn't a 4 star recruit. Johnson didn't excel in the SEC.

When you are getting the top 14 QB recruit in the nation you best recognize.
