Of course, my parents are both BG grads and my older sister, Brenda, was a Freshman in 1983 when I got my first look at BGSU. It just seemed like the coolest place. Had my younger sister, Beth, not transferred to Kent State after her Freshman year at BGSU, we would have been 5 for 5. She was thrown out of the family for doing such a despicable thing.
I bet she regrets it plenty since she's probably illiterate

I would say Purdue's budget is in the 60-75 Mil range. Ohio State's is around $120 MILLION.
Good grief  ! I knew a school like Purdue had some serious money in their AD but I never thought they had that much. Thats more than triple ours. And OSU's at 120 million just blows my mind , thats akin to a NFL team almost.

So does this epiphony mean that you will stop being so negative towards BGSU when it comes to recruiting talent because you have realized that it is largely due to financial inequity?

Purdue is a big time school and people need to realize it!!! They are ranked in the top25 in almost every category imaginable and turn down about 8 applicants for every one excepted! Not to mention how over crowded it already is to go along with the 3 new buildings being put up JUST THIS YEAR! PU is a big time University and its sad that people outside of this area (West Lafayette) underestimate its size and money capabilities! Ok now too football.... Some of you might see this as a bit of a stretch but a few good breaks and PU could also find themselves in the national championship game this year in football. I know they went 5-6 last year, but they had a lot of injuries, and since the Joe Tiller era I cant think of many losses that didnt come in the last minute of the game, and we SHOULD have won it, and didnt! I dont remember the exact numbers, but there was a stretch a few years back where Tiller's previous 10 losses (across 2 or 3 seasons) were by like 33 points! Thats a FG a game! Watch out for PU and 2006, congratulations to Mr. Christopher, Boiler Up and as always foremost GO FALCONS!!!!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Kudos to JD Campbell and the SID office for providing a complete press conference transcript and photo gallery for those of us unable to attend.

Right on, JoeFalcon. Just read the transcript and I must say I am very excited to see Greg C. get things rolling. This is gonna be a great ride.

Congrats to Dr. Ribeau and Dr. Whipple for their work in selecting an outstanding candidate to take over our athletic dept!

GO FALCONS!!!

Having been able to attend the press conference, something that's not in the transcript (thanks J.D. and staff) is the excitement of other coaches over this guy. There was a great turnout from coaches who, having talked to a few of them, were very enthusiastic about Christopher and impressed with everything they've seen. Should be interesting to see how things are progressing with him at the helm six-to-nine months from now.
