I have tickets to the Browns game Sunday, and I wasn't sure whether I'd be able to make the Falcons game or not. Usually we head to Cleveland on Saturdays and stay there to get an early start on tailgating. We would likely not have changed those usual plans for a game against Buffalo, but with it being early we may be able to hit the game first
Feel lucky this year will mark the first Pittsburgh at cleveland Game i have atteneded in the new CLB stadium!!!\
And with all the moves cleveland has made I dare say that my second favorite team (the Browns) are back! I will be bet the divison title comes down to my Stelers and the Browns, just like it is suposed to.
Cinic is out, but not donw and out like some will say.

Even with all the convicts and rapists on the Bengals, they're still a much better team than the Browns this year (assuming Carson Palmer is Carson Palmer by week 2).
I still can't fathom anybody's favorite two teams can be the Browns and the Steelers. Something's seriously wrong there.

Is your second favorite college Toledo?
Agreed on all accounts.
Although the Bengals are the new Ravens. Eventually that stuff might start to cause lockerroom issues. Especially if they lose a couple games in a row sometime.
I just wanted to formally invite everybody to join me for a wine-tasting party after the football game @ the arts festival.
We can sit around and listen to the country music band play while we watch people get drunk off of beer and bloated with fried food...all the while drinking Pinot Noir and eating Caviar.
I don't mind the time change, because I have a 10 minute drive to the stadium. I'm sorry for those of you who are not so fortunate. I'm just glad that I'll have something to do other than watch my TV get covered in Scarlet and Gay.
The festival will hurt attendance. It has never been a boost to home games in the past, I see no reason why that changes now. More to the point, there are a lot of locals that volunteer and otherwise tend their shops on the festival Saturday. Lots of people that might otherwise be off of work, or at the game. The start time will keep some people home that might otherwise travel to BG, the OSU game will in fact hurt people leaving home to travel.
I think if you spent more than twenty minutes debating the topic, you would get sound reasons why any time that day would hurt attendance. So I’m content to say there is no ideal road to take.
What I think sucks, is that IF I wanted to tour the “We would be in a community mall arts show if not here” festival along with the “we say this is just like ‘New York’ to avoid having to deal with living in Ohio” crowd, I’d be unhappy. The early part of the day is the best time to shop there. Getting boozed-up and dancing is why people go to the music later. Festival Sunday always tends to be dead as the displays start closing down early.

The BSA Fest would not be keeping me away from the game. There's absolutley nobody playing there at the stage that I'm interested in remotly. I usually go to see the great photography.
Wasn't the first home game of last season, or was it two seasons ago, against SEMO St. on Black Swamp day? Whenever it was, it was the most highly attended game of the season if I recall.
I suspect the crowd at DLP didn't have anything to do with the BSF. I think people were coming out to see the Falcons, that certainly was the feel to it.

That SEMO game was the last time I truly felt a sense of enthusiasm from the fans at the Doyt. The 17 point drilling at NIU that followed it seemed to take the wind out of the sails and they've never come back. The crowds have been smaller and quieter...off the top of my head, I don't think we've officially cracked 20,000 since.
I don't know what it's going to take to get people interested again, but I definitely get a sense that the program isn't generating much of a buzz.

Flip: Great assessment there. And I believe you are correct about our inability to crack 20K since. In fact, I believe last year's Temple game was the top attendance figure since the SEMizzou game.

I know we've tried to block this game from our memories, but the UT game last November had over 20K at the Doyt. No question. And that game definently had a buzz and atmosphere to it. But pretty much every BG/Toledo game does.

Sorry Crazy Fan, but you are mistaken. Official statistics from that game show the attendance was 17,438.
